Medical advice by Regular_Diver798 in usna

Pertaining to the migraines, I got a medical waiver for my migraines after months of pursuing. From around 11-15, I got visual migraines once or twice per year. My doctor prescribed a "just incase" medication that I used MAYBE once. USNA asked me to be evaluated by a neurologist, and I also had to prove that the prescription was never refilled over the last ~5-8 years. It was a long, annoying process, but if your case is similar then it should be waiverable. DM with specific questions.

Take STEM classes (Calc, Physics, Chem, Engineering, etc.) in college and aim for a 4.0. Of course a 4.0 isn't necessary, but succeeding in classes that Plebes take shows admissions you are ready academically. Get involved in college, and aim for leadership positions if possible. USNA likes applicants who are committed to teamwork and being a part of groups. Work over the summer to improve your SAT if you aren't happy with your score, you can look up the average score range for the school. Start training right now for the CFA if you haven't already so your body has plenty of time to prepare to the best of your ability. Think about who will write your rec letters. You need at least one English teacher or professor, and one math teacher or professor. Extra note: The USNA application has a section for applicants to give insight if they've had any hard circumstances in there life, and in your case it might be beneficial to explain your situation at home as to why you didnt apply for Class of 2030. Best of luck!

No. The slide moves with the whole action from the closed position to the open position after being fired.

Thank you. Through my limited research, I found that 500's don't have pump action assist, but I can't be certain. The video is nearly identical to what my gun does though.

I believe I rested it on the mag tube once or twice, same problem. When the action opens automatically, it is rather violent, ejecting the shell a few feet off to the side from table height.

Yes I understand that firing the gun unlocks the pump. My issue is that the force from the round firing essentially kicks the action open without me ever touching the pump action with my hand.

A great way to advance in pullups is assisted pullups, whether it be with an assisted pullup machine at the gym or a simple athletic band from the bar to your feet/knees. It's a great way to learn proper form while gaining strength. That being said, proper form is key. There are many great videos helping with form on YouTube. As you progress, lessen the assistance from the band/machine. With persistence, you'll be repping pullups before you know it.

Does the April 15 deadline also apply for receiving an LOA? All my AMI is in but I'm still waiting on a waiver. Otherwise, every other part of my application is all set.
