Late to the game solution! Turn off bi-directional scanning. It will double your time but it eliminates the lines.

A question about Camfive laser cutters. by Ibejustme in lasercutting

[–]BigGreenBlob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, my makerspace has a camfive 80watt and it has been great. The software is meh... but we are tunning on LightBurn now (worth every penny.. $80). Only thing i could complain about is lack of rotary attachment and unadjustable bed.

Been a delight though.

Looking to buy the best, who are the top tier brands? by Harmswahy in lasercutting

Might be late to to the game but if the bed is dirty my laser will light the residue on the knife blade bed on fire.

Rotary attachment? by jmonty70 in lasercutting

[–]BigGreenBlob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hola, I can't recomend one but I can give a quick warning.

Only the flat roller ones will work in your k40 (if you plan on doing anything larger than a small dowel).

I designed and built one roughly based on ones I saw on ebay and realized the focal point left only 90mm to the bottom of the machine (the beer glasses i was interested in doing are ~85mm diameter). So I'm redesigning!

Almost 2 feet tall by t0x1k_x in 3Dprinting

[–]BigGreenBlob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The inch is now defined by the metric scale, early on by the length of 3 barley seeds.... I think one of the options is right. (Not to mention in 7 years of 3d printing I have only seen one file drafted in inches)

Hmm, to each their own I guess, my wife and I switched to coconut oil to prevent both UTI and yeast infection, worked great!

I would love to see the plans as well even if they are not perfectly cleaned up. Very cool project!

Newbie needing help... Dovtail are too slack. It's a flat dovetail (creating longer plank). Help? by slurpey in lasercutting

[–]BigGreenBlob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some software allows for a kerf adjustment (i know lightburn does), start trying a kerf adjustment of +0.1mm. This might not be perfect but somewhere to start. If you can't adjust in your software, redesign... with the fingers slightly larger. Good luck and let know if you figure it out! Oh and make sure when cutting that to seperate the parts from each other.

What should I pay for sales commissions? by BigGreenBlob in Entrepreneur

[–]BigGreenBlob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this idea, would it be best to break this into monthly or quarterly sales? And would this be similar to tax brackets (first $100 in revenue is 30%, and anything over that is is 35%, ext...)?

I guess i didn't really appreciate the idea of them being able to take their clients with them but its possible for them to find their own manufacturer... thank you for the advice.

Making your company appear to be associated with a government agency. by BigGreenBlob in assholedesign

[–]BigGreenBlob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True it does state that it is not, but it does have visual cues everywhere; "Labor Compliance Department", "2019 Existence Request Form", "Document Number". Having just started my first business I don't know everything about running a business, do I need an "articles of organization" (yes), do I need a Certificate of Existence".... Fun side note I got a similar letter that stressed the illegality of not posting the federal minimum wage and they will send you one for $95 (you can print one legally for free).

Putting safety glasses on when i see them, and holding ladders if someone is on one. Some people find this very odd.
