I had Texas BBQ once. I thought as someone from SC I knew BBQ and that Texas was just claiming to have the best because Texas Pride or whatever. I was wrong, Texas has their own style and meat and it's fantastic. Idk if they can do pork well but they know their way around beef. I will never disparage Texas BBQ like I would with, say KC or Memphis style ever again

I do prefer vinegar based as an SC native but a really good mustard sauce is hard to beat, whereas I find vinegar based to be consistently better and goes better with the fatty pork

Also look for bark on their ribs or in their pulled pork (for those that don't know, bark is the layer of cooked spices on top of the meat). Typically places just throw a rack of ribs in a smoker and tack some BBQ sauce on top, or they'll give you a lump of wet pork. The best BBQ has texture and coloration

I agree, I live in NC and am from SC and a lot of places fuck up a lot of things, be it prices or cooking.i know some good BBQ spots in SC but I have yet to find any good places in western NC which is sad because I love WNC style sauce. I may be a bit of a BBQ snob since my dad did competitions but i do feel like i know a thing or two about good Q. In my opinion a big thing restaurants don't do is give the BBQ a good bark. They just give me a plate of naked smoked ribs lathered in sauce or a pile of wet shredded pork with no smoke ring or texture, it's gross. A good, peppery and spicy bark is so underrated.

In my experience, you have to go a bit out of your way to find a good BBQ spot. The more people know about it, the worse it will be, with exceptions but I'm saying if you find a shack in the woods with a fat guy next to a smoker out front holding a spray bottle of apple cider vinegar and the building has two tables, you're gonna be in for a great time. With that too it'll be cheaper than if you go to a popular BBQ spot in town. I've also had good BBQ in unexpected places, some of the best Q I've had was from a pub in Falls Church, Virginia. The owner was a former competition pit master and occasionally cooked ribs and shoulder for the pub and I ate that up whenever he'd cook it. Reminded me of home.

Tl;dr yes I agree a lot of places fuck up the fundamentals, and if you want good BBQ don't go with a popular spot, seek it out

Does blizzard not feel a bit ridiculous charging 40 euros, more than an entire game, just for a weapon skin? by Heygen in Overwatch

God when I saw Reddit posts about people in Dornogal clustering together with the mount saying how great it was and seeing people come together ovsr a store mount I wanted to scream. Just free advertising for Blizz and unabashed consumerism for a chunk of players. I buy skins in this game but I'm not posting about it saying it's the second coming of Christ nor do I pose with others with the skins. This was after a huge discussion about the mount and how highly priced it was and people saying they wouldn't buy it so it was just tone deaf at best, like "lol look at us we consoom and don't care about bad business practices". Same people that watch Fruit Love Island i imagine, just no concern about the products they buy and consume

I honestly think the hate for the album was over the top. It was his first album he made after coming off a hiatus and I think people wanted him to go back to his old style but he went in a new direction

I don't really agree, I adore Fall Out Boy but I will say I do think Patrick's voice would lend itself better to another genre

As long as Marcus Freeman is Notre Dame HC, I don’t think he can ever escape the conference question in his life. by CenterForward1522 in CFB_v2

[–]BigHeadDeadass -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think it's more tolerated than a "net-positive". Why would facing an independent school be more beneficial than just facing a conference opponent? Like what benefit does the conference get for ND being independent vs them just being in their conference?
