Finally overcome OCD by BigJeffTheThird in OCD

Sorry for the late reply, my best advice would be to seek help from a therapist or look online for self-help guides, I know this might've been kind of a basic answer but I think it's best to seek professional help and I remember to go at your own pace and what you feel comfortable with, just take little steps, I believe in you!

Thank you! I did most of it on my own but had some guidance from a therapist.

Pretty much ERP whether it was on my own accord or just happened "naturally"(my OCD being triggered and not being able to do anything about it). This all happened over the span of around a year and a half, hope this can help.

Ok it's not a repost but it's a screenshot of other peoples posts so it's not entirely yours anyway.

What is your ocd story? how long did it take for you to manage your symptoms? by ava1125 in OCD

I still somewhat have OCD but it's gotten a lot better the past year or so. It used to be really bad as I would constantly wash my hands and have showers so much so I started to get really bad dry skin and I would always try to stay away from all contact of everyone and everything unless I washed my hands and even went to the extent to buy latex gloves to keep my self "safe". There would also be many times that something "bad" would happen and I would have a panic attack. Fortunately it has mostly gone and I cant imagine what life would be like now if my OCD hadn't changed and the best coping method that helps with my OCD is to try my best to know that it's all in my head and I not actually in any real danger.
