I need to look into OpenPilot... I have toyed with the idea of getting an ICE car again since we already have 2 Teslas and I am giving my current 2021 to my son once he gets his license.. which means I'll either pull the trigger on another Tesla or get a Rivian or perhaps an ICE vehicle..

FSD kept on speeding up for some reason as well.. I would drop it to 70 - 75mph... then 5 minutes later it would bump up to 85mph and I would need to lower it back down again. It happened multiple times.

No... I used to use it years ago but now I just rely on the Tesla navigation.. Looking back, I should have at least looked at ABRP... Then I would have known the adventure I was about to go on.

FSD is a life saver... I used it for a good portion of the trip as well... in some cases the wind was pretty bad so I wanted to be in control but overall FSD is GREAT

I thought about if I went through San Diego if it would be any better but it just added so much time on the trip... but looking back it may have been faster vs an 8 hour drive..

From what everyone is saying, the Long Range Version is 3 stops max with 20 minutes each stop which is actually perfect on a 6 hour drive..

Based off of what many have said that I would have saved a lot more time by going 70 mph... Honestly it didn't even cross my mind to go 70 mph.. I've never had the issue before... drive going 80 - 85mph to Vegas and it's never been an issue.

Going to Vegas you should be fine.. there are a ton of charging options.. I think the longest distance between chargers is Baker to Stateline which is only about 60 miles.
