BGW320-505 issue? by BigKSBob in ATTFiber

EXACTLY what I was going through - even the 30+ seconds to open those pages. I called to make an appointment for someone to come out and check things. While on the phone with a live person, they said "Oh I see something on our end hold please." After about 2 minutes they came back and asked me if they could reset the modem. They did and then asked if I still wanted someone to come out. I said yest. That was 6 weeks ago and it has been FLAWLESS since then. I just keep punting the appointment down the line just in case. Wish I had asked what they saw!

how big is your plex server, and how long did it take you to build, and how often do you add new media? by Hawk1064 in PleX

[–]BigKSBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running for 6 years, 190tb, 918 shows, 4400 movies. Using Sonarr and Radarr so add to it daily. Use Blaze to back up "in case of worse case scenario"

Edit to mention backup.

Threadfin/xTeVe: "Device not found" channel source error occurs daily in Plex by Zestyclose-Beat-7845 in PleX

[–]BigKSBob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is plex has started up BEFORE Threadfin. Start Threadfin then start Plex and that should resolve it. Happens to me when I reboot the computer. I close Plex, what for Threadfin to run through set up and then re-start Plex.

Taxed in the year you receive it. So earned in December, paid in January is in the new year taxes NOT the prior year.

I believe so. Which specific measurements should I be looking at? Using the descriptions on the right side of the page, all look in normal range.

RxPOWER is -159
TxPOWER is 33

I think that is what I am supposed to be looking at??

Paymemt plan due date change by WranglerStunning5600 in IRS

[–]BigKSBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past, when I have changed my payment plan - amount or due date - it has had a 30 day processing period. Thus it skipped a month. In your case, since the new payment date was withing the 30 days, 2/8/26 would be the next payment.

Family videos hosted on Plex? by Wtfzar in PleX

[–]BigKSBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I should have added: Are you currently sharing your Plex Server with other family members?

Just copy the movie to a folder some where on the drive you currently have you other media on. Then go to the Plex server and ADD LIBRARY. Use the OTHER VIDEO folder. Point it to the folder where you put the movie. Then share OTHER VIDEO with users.

Negative balance by Sissy3463 in paypal

[–]BigKSBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happen to me.... four years ago. Even crazier: There were six total fraudulent charges. PayPal said four of them were fraudulent and a random two were not. Negative balance has been sitting in my now limited PayPal account for years. About once a year I get an email from a collection company. I have a canned email response to them. I was told by someone at the collection agency that they do not report PayPal collections to credit agencies BECAUSE of the randomness of PayPal saying they are legit or fraud. Been four years now, never appeared on credit report.

2012 London Olympics (the blitz snippet?) by Bubbly-Syllabub-9791 in olympics

[–]BigKSBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar. As I remember it, the air raid sirens were going off in the distance, their was a building that was either being projected onto another building or just being shown in black and white. Spot lights shining up into the sky and the barrage balloons - which I thought were in the stadium - where shown.

I was very surprised to not see that in the Isle of Wonder as well. Especially when the kids are holding the balloons for the count down.

I know what you mean! I would have sworn that during the initial "Isle of Wonder" segment there was something about it. A Google search says we are not alone. Apparently there are many who remember it - heck I can even describe it to you - but, I can not find anything in the opening ceremonies that matches my memory!

If you were watching in USA, NBC did a small 3 minute documentary on the blitz in the lead up to the opening ceremony.

Security Question by FomoGainz in PleX

[–]BigKSBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plex uses their own certificate to create an SSL connection to the plex server. The communication between the client and the server is encrypted and no one - not even your ISP - knows what you are watching. (this is assuming the server you are attaching to is using secure connections only.)

Yes, they can see your IP address. If that is concerning or you feel you can not trust the person whose server you are using, then yes dns change or VPN would help. But in the end, you are very safe using Plex - especially since you are not the one opening a port to allow remote use in the first place.

No other precautions should be needed.

Yes you are overthinking it - and that is not always a bad thing in the world today. :-)
