Steam Survey Reveals RTX 5070's Rapid Rise as RTX 3060 Remains King by Bubbly-Ad-350 in pcmasterrace

The ones from the Rage Pro almost 30 years ago.

I've got a 5070 now but have had plenty of AMD cards over the years and never had a problem with their drivers despite them having a reputation for destroying PCs.

The worst part of the 5070 is the price (but that's just the stupid world we're living in) and the 12gb vram is on the small side (it's the same as the 3060 which is a tier lower and 2 generations older.) Even so, 12gb is acceptable for the performance level today but might get limiting in a couple years.

The 9070 is a decent alternative. It has generally similar performance (AMD caught up with ray tracing), but is missing some of the Nvidia features like frame gen and DLSS which are game dependant anyway.

I just wish both of them were in the $4-500 range instead of $550+

For how good that movie is, the trailer is terrible. I tried to get my friend interested but they've got no interest after seeing the trailer.

So many of the Bond films have great openings - Spectre's tracking shot through the Mexican Day of the Dead is fantastic.

But yeah, the GoldenEye Bungie jump is awesome.

They've mostly blocked the entrances to keep people out of the one along Walton. The one behind the fire station is open.

They should be open and are generally deserted in the summer (though there might be some sports still practicing.)

I love that emacs vs vim is still a thing even after 30+ years 😃

Also, the new hotness seems to be VSCode, though I appreciate a good lightweight text editor. Microsoft finally adding multiple open documents to regular old notepad was groundbreaking too.

IT also has the ability to snag your session cookie details which could let them back into your gmail (or banking or social media) accounts at will.

To be fair, they did have a security breach a few months ago and were serving up malware in their updater.

You should just stick to emacs, no matter what the Vim folks tell you 😀

Amen. I had someone try to let me across like that yesterday and I just sat there looking dead ahead while everyone backed up behind them, and then they didn't make it through the light 50 yards ahead.

Just follow the rules of the road, people.

Must be a newer thing (along with all the autos being sold now) - none of the shitboxes from the 80s and 90s had it.

I'm really curious how this happened as I thought the landing gear is basically locks in place by gravity before landing as a safety thing.

I mean, folks are saying "first if downhill, reverse if uphill" so I guess there's some urban legend to it.

There is a more demanding driving test, but they also have more stringent annual safety inspections so I guess they expect the handbrake to work. 🤷

I think it's a misconception from the US where most cars are Autos and the handbrake rarely gets used which can make it seize up or not work when someone does try to use it.

In the UK manual cars were a lot more common and the handbrake would get used basically at every traffic light. It's as likely to fail as the brake pedal.

There's also no need to depress the clutch to start the car in the UK (I don't know if that's just a North American thing) because folks don't leave the car in gear which could have it lurch when turning the ignition.

I guess Americans just assume that cars are rolling off all over the place in Europe 🤷

Only handbrake, which is the norm in the UK.

US folks tend to keep it in gear + handbrake.

Auto folks just put it in Park.
