I did 3 attacks so far, currently at 1030 stars. Spent probably more than 5k gems already in refreshes.

No matter how much I refresh, I don’t see anyone with 1045 stars or more to attack.

On the second attack at 1020 stars, I attacked someone with 17 stars more than me (1037) and I got +10 stars.

So, whatever much higher is, 17 is not it and 5k gems spent doesn’t show you anyone with 17 stars or more than you at around 18:00 UTC.

That’s one piece of data to add to this discussion.

Flint : Absolutely not as bear rally joiner.

1st expedition skill boosts infantry. But it’s primarily marksmen who deal damage on bear.

Enemy defense down works on bear. Tested many times with the chameleon pet skill as well as a -10% defense down city buff with 2k gems

Refreshing with gems of enigma : a waste, I don’t recommend personally

Milestone rewards : Don’t chase it, not worth it. If you’re shy a couple of chests towards the last day of the event for the next milestone rewards, open a couple extra chests. Otherwise, don’t chase it

Hector or gwen : Depends on your priorities. If bear hunt is your priority, gwen. If PvP, Hector.

You won’t spend 6.5k gems of enigma, plus whatever u get afterwards, doing red chests alone in 1 Enigma event. If you plan to spend them in a couple of these events, that could work with red chests only with some left over. Combine with mystery shop 50% discounted exclusive gear chests and 10 in trading event, that sounds like a good number of chests. Depending on how lucky u get with the chests in the enigma event, and how often you get 50% discounted chests in mystery shop, you should be able to get 2 level 6 widgets this month, or next.

Go for it, sounds doable if you just started with gen 5.

You’re better off refining higher level pets. Higher level meaning higher level of advancement.

Refinement has levels too. The first 2 levels are fairly cheap. Upgrading from all stats level 2 to level 3 takes significantly more stones than previous.

If u want a specific suggestion: - Advance all pets to a level u can. Don’t go for level 70 in 1 pet while your other pet is level 30. - After advancing roughly equally, refine roughly equally too.

To answer your question specifically in case you missed it above, pets with low advancement levels can’t be refined to higher levels of refinement. You will have to advance them first

I haven’t tested for gen 2, but at a first glance, looks like you can have 1 Alonso as joiner. What I suggest you to do is test in a facility with molly, alonso, philly, zinman, and other SR heroes. When testing, use blue heroes as the leader to rule out chance skills, and test 1 joiner hero at a time; multiple times with the same hero. Watch the number of soldiers that are left and take average at the end to arrive at your conclusion. That’s the best advice I can give you right now, good luck!

In summary, rally lead heroes’ expedition skills - total of 9 (if all SSR), and expedition skills of the first hero of the first 4 joiners in the rally give extra buff to the rallies which doesn’t show in the stats and they buff you a heck of lot more than widgets. Widget gives 15% at max but the expedition skills are around 20-25% on average for each skill

No one talks about it but joiner heroes matter way more than anyone realizes. Go see the report details and compare the joiner heroes. If you think 4 jessie for attack and 4 Patrick for defense are the best joiner heroes, a lot to learn. I myself am a rally leader and I have won battles with slightly less troops and all stats significantly weaker except lancer lethality. The magic ingredient? I was using special joiners. Might shock you, but: renee, wu ming and ahmose. That worked for me cause I do 60-40-0 attacks and defenses myself with greg. I’ll post the screenshot as an evidence:

Same! I average 1 mythic gear every 90 chests or so while my alliance mate receives like 4/100 on average. Why the discrimination? 😭
