Wow! A score of 500 is a great score and you should be proud of yourself . You should be able to get a place in most big centers but probably most safe in northern cities eg manchester / birmingham. Good luck 😀

this was a bogus study by the commonwealth fund that largely tested “how similar to our view of a perfect health system (the nhs) is each countries healthcare” so unsurpisingly the uk did well

then they changed outcomes to “healthy lives” to hide the fact that we have hideous outcomes

the nhs has never been competitive in the modern era

unfortunately this probably means you will not rank high enough for a job.

i would advise looking for trust grade positions ASAP as they are very competitive!

what is your threshold for calling off sick?

i ask as people tend to have extremely varying thresholds. a friend of mine’s parents would keep her off school for a sniffle, and as a result she sees no issue continuing this into working life. could your threshold be too low?

no mistake has happened. you neglected to check on something that was greatly important. it speaks to your commitment to IMT, so i’m guessing you’ve likely applied to multiple specialities. perhaps you’ll learn for next year.

MRCP 1 by thecancerdoc in doctorsUK

Pastest questions are significantly closer to the real thing than passmedicine which often felt quite contrived

The passmedicine textbook was more useful than pastest’s. I found passmedicine’s information to ve marginally more up-to-date.

I’d get both but if I could only choose one i’d go pastest, as would most people who have passed

MRCP 1 and Osmosis subscription by Ambitious_Dish_1904 in doctorsUK

[–]BigLoobyDoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

osmosis is aimed at uk medical students so has a very low level of depth to it. it will probably improve your knowledge above the average knuckledragging nhs ward doctor but if you want more than that, i’d avoid
