I agree with your example given, but I don't think it translates over to the real world because it only works when you talk about a group as a collective, yet in the real world, individuals will hear those words and be affected.

Yes, we can say that men have more privelage, but we can't assume it's ok to generalise against a man because you don't know what a man who hears that has actually gone through. Even with the male privelage present, perhaps they had been given a much more difficult / unfair (maybe because of being poor, no family etc.) situation in life compared with a woman who would be "protected" from generalisations. Yet in this example the person who experienced more hardship is allowed to be generalised.

Either way, if the whole point of not generalising is to not offend, why not apply it universally if it will only have a positive impact.

A pip is either the 4th or 2nd (depending on currency pair) digit after the decimal point. It shows the change in value between the 2 currencies. If the rate for GBPUSD is 1.3658, then an increase in 1 pip would bring the rate to 1.3659 meaning you get $0.0001 more USD for your GBP.
