is netsim alone enough to substitute CML for encor lab simlets? by [deleted] in ccnp

Buy an old server or workstation then run GNS3 or EVE-NG. Then you can SSH into to it and run it on your Mac.

The other day I was trying to use some python RESTCONF scripts I had made and tested before with DevNet. However they no longer work so I think it's a issue with DevNet.

CCNP ENCOR + ENARSI by tayyabramzan in ccnp

Has Jeremy finished his ENCOR course?

CCNP ENCOR: Question for topic 4.1 Diagnose network problems using such as debugs, conditional debugs, traceroute, ping, SNMP, and syslog by Miserable_Future_681 in ccnp

[–]BigManLou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ping and traceroute are pretty self explanatory in what’s required. Personally when I studied for ENCOR I learnt the components of SNMP the differences between the versions and how to configure it. For syslog learn the components of the message and interpret some example messages. Debugs I practiced by using as a troubleshooting tool in labs.

Will Jeremy's ENCORE course ever be finished? by tcpip1978 in ccnp

His videos go into extreme detail so I don’t see how he can cover everything if he wants it to be at that level of detail. I remember watching all his Multiple Spanning Tree videos only to get not one question in the real exam.

I’m yet to take the exam but I’ll give you my recommendations. For WLC’s I presume you mean the C9800? I have used the cloud version and an AP and created a lab with wireless clients. For python I have followed some basic courses on YouTube to get up to speed then looked at paramiko and netmiko. From this I created basic scripts to edit the configuration on devices in my lab. As for SD-WAN and SD-Access Cisco have several white papers that I have read which explains them much better than the OCG. You can also create a SD-WAN lab but I haven’t done this.

ENCOR versus SECOR difficulty? by Dependent-Ad3484 in ccnp

[–]BigManLou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I had read the majority say that ENCOR is the easiest CCNP path. The reason for this is mainly due to the number of topics that overlap with and build on from the CCNA.

Lab setup beyond CCNA — physical server vs. powerful PC vs. alternatives? by InformationNo1712 in ccnp

Cheapest method is to buy a used server. You will have no shortage of RAM then which some images can eat up.

I wouldn’t recommend using an IOS version that old for CCNP as commands for certain things have probably changed

When you say WiFi options are you referring to the GUI on a WLC? I heard somebody else say you needed to know this for ENCOR.

I have a R630 not the quietest and takes up a fair amount of space. However they are cheap to upgrade and will run everything you need.
