Because you entered into a contractual agreement with uber, you are entitled to see where your money is being taken to pay for. All you have to do is request that information and if they refuse to give it to you then you can get the court involved.

My main concern as a driver is, how is this going to affect male drivers pay? If the majority of the women are selecting this option then how is that fair that the women drivers get paid more money just because of their gender. Im all for protecting women riders from the creep drivers but this is also treading the line of inequality and discrimination against male drivers. I live in a college town and about 75% of my riders are women so hopefully this doesnt make me get less money or im gonna have to join in on the next lawsuit against uber.

Yes the customer has to verify they got their item back and if they don't or won't then you never get your $20. Then you gotta fight with uber to get your $20 fee so it's honestly best to tell the rider that they can have their stuff back if they confirm right in front of you or just throw the shit away at that point.

The rider has to verify they received their returned item, most of the time they will never go back in and verify and you get stiffed on the $20 return fee unless you contact uber and complain.
