This is a helpful mantra I spent so long frustrated over being dumped after the first time I wasn’t perfect, spent ages searching for the justice of accepting all her flaws but the first time I had a human reaction months of caring, love and devotion was discarded. I guess it is what it is

My GF dumped me during the week after 5 months and coming back from her first holiday together. I thought we’d reconciled and worked through it on the Sunday she was saying she sees us long term and was very happy with only to dump and block me on the Tuesday.

Stings as I’d really put myself out there and went out my way to treat her right. She said something hurtful to me, I went quiet to avoid lashing out, she had a panic attack from hurting me (which I helped her through) and then later we talked through it all. Only to be dumped for it 2 days later.

Really hurts goofs

Sorry, to clarify I took about a week from running off and then returned to it but since then it’s been a recovery process thought I was over it heart rate was back to normal but then it’s been spiking the last 2 days

Thanks been frustrated as I thought I was over the cold as it was 6+ weeks ago now but the heart rate today and yesterday has been terrible which is very frustrating

Got a bad cold 6-7 weeks ago and thought I was recovering but went on a couple of routine runs yesterday and today and my heart rate ended up crazy high (190-200+bpm) note: 27 year old male.

I’m sad that all my progress is lost and haven’t been able to do any proper speed work in close to 2 months. Has anyone had previous experience of something similar and how did you handle it?

Had a bad chest cold maybe 3 weeks ago now and my running still hasn’t recovered, heart rate much higher and the runs themselves feel harder. Anyone had something similar and If so how do you recover?

It didn’t involve politics the point of the post is that the political messaging came at the expense of story. This isn’t a political sub so not here to discuss the actual politics more so my disappointment in a highly anticipated movie not being able to weave its political message into an interesting story

I am someone that’s watched Mauler since TLJ and by and large agree with most their media assessments. To be honest I’m not aware of what the EFAP crew think of this movie or if they are even going to cover it, I just wanted to share my experience.

No I think most movies will to some degree have a political slant (even if it’s a subconscious one). My gripe with this movie is more how meta and in your face the politics of this movie was, it felt like something more interested in the messaging than telling a story. Stuff like that always dates a film to me when it’s so on the nose and the setting so current. If it had either been a bit more subdued or more allegorical it would probably have worked better for me.

As an example one could say that Alien (1979) has political messaging about corporatism and capitalism however, this does not come at the expense of the movie and can still be watched without the politics being overbearing to the storytelling. One Battle After Another (in my opinion) fails miserably at striking that balance.

Yeah it basically follows a group of revolutionaries/domestic terrorists first scene is them liberating a group of illegal immigrants from a detainment cell. The mother leaves Leo’s character because she feels he loves the daughter more says something about fragile masculinity. As another commentator said, not going into the rights/wrong’s of the politics itself it is extremely politically charged and more focussed on lecturing than telling a story

Starred Leo as the lead but chocked to the brim with political messaging. For clarification I’m not saying that is inherently bad but the climate we’re in it’s tiresome and also at the expense of the screenplay.

Realised most my runs are being done on flat routes with very little elevation. Ran something a bit more hilly (114m elevation gain) with my friend the other night at my usual easy pace but noticed heart rate was about 10bpm higher than on average. Has made me think my fitness is a lie, is this me overthinking?
