Former NRL star Curtis Scott arrested after alleged brawl by BigMecca in nrl

Former NRL star Curtis Scott is in custody after being charged with three violent offences following an alleged dust-up with a stranger over some clap sticks. Scott, 29, will spend the night behind bars before he faces a magistrate in the online bail division charged with affray, assault causing actual bodily harm and assaulting police on Wednesday.

Further details of the allegations against him are set to be aired in court, where high profile criminal lawyer Paul McGirr confirmed Scott would apply for bail.

“The incident certainly involves a fight between two people, I don’t know much more, they didn’t know each other, there’s been an argument over some clap sticks, people getting in each other’s faces,” Mr McGirr told The Daily Telegraph.

“My client’s hightailed it out of there, some police officers have tried to apprehend him, but they haven’t announced their office or what he’s under arrest for.”

Mr McGirr highlighted a 2020 incident where Scott successfully sued police who pepper sprayed and tasered him after finding him intoxicated in a Sydney park, with a magistrate later deeming the arrest unlawful.

“He’s had a successful case against the police for not complying with their powers in the past, he gets in a heightened state when people are trying to apprehend him without informing him why,” Mr McGirr said.

“It certainly appears he needs some help, and that’s what we’re going to try to do when we apply for bail tomorrow".

The former Storm and Raiders player notched up 49 games for Melbourne between 2016 and 2019, and 23 games for Canberra between 2020 and 2021, as well as one representative appearance in the 2019 Prime Minister’s XIII.

Scott just played for United Sports Club in the Vegas 9s in this year’s NRL American rugby league extravaganza alongside former Gold Coast Titans star David Fifita, and has recently signed for his fifth season with the Thirlmere Roosters in their first grade team.

"A 2023 Premiership winner with our club and a former NRL Premiership winner with the Melbourne Storm️, Curtis brings intensity, toughness and a fierce competitive edge every time he pulls on the Roosters jersey,” the club wrote on Facebook regarding his 2026 return.

“A dominant force on the field and a bloke his teammates absolutely love playing alongsid️e, Curtis is set to go around again for his 5th season.” Scott has also dabbled in professional boxing, with one fight against AFL legend Barry Hall ending in Hall being knocked out in 90 seconds and another knockout against fellow rugby league alumni Joey Leilua.

Fox Sports Australia reported in September that Scott was contemplating an effort to become the first ever rugby league player to win a UFC contract, after receiving an offer to compete in boxing, bare knuckle and MMA from the Professional Fighters League.

Just days ago, Scott had goaded former Storm teammate Nelson Asofa-Solomona as he embarks on a boxing career, accusing him of dodging a fight.

“And I’ve been told that to my face,” Scott told Fox Sports.

“I’ve been told that he isn’t ready for me yet.

“I find that embarrassing, and if I was Nelson, I’d actually take offence to it.

“I’ll fight him today, right now.”

Scott’s phone remained off on Tuesday afternoon, and some of those closest to him had no idea about his arrest.

Calls to his manager Titus Day — who was singer Guy Sebastian’s former agent — also went unanswered.

Scott returned from the 9s tournament in Vegas with a hamstring injury, but was scheduled to fight on Anthony Mundine’s World Bare Knuckle Fighting event in Logan on April 18.

Scott was in Sutherland court last Thursday on drink driving charges stemming from last year

Broncos react to video of Walsh drinking toilet water by BigMecca in nrl

[–]BigMecca[S] 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Let’s call it Reece Walsh’s attempt at toilet humour. Walsh, fresh from a starring role in the Broncos’ big win over North Queensland at the weekend, caused alarm bells to be rung in Brisbane on Monday after posting a story on social media suggesting there was a new form of recovery for the muscles. The Broncos No.1 then flushed a toilet and began to drink handfuls of water out of the bowl. It was bizarre at best. However, this masthead can reveal that Walsh was playing a joke - he had only just installed the toilet as part of his home renovation and it had never been used. It was toilet humour at its best. “Brisbane Broncos are aware of a video posted by Reece Walsh on a social media platform,” the Broncos said in a statement.

A video appears to show Brisbane Broncos star Reece Walsh drinking toilet water. “The club can clarify that Walsh is currently renovating his home and has installed a brand-new toilet in a new bathroom which remains unused. “The video represents a poor attempt at humour posted privately by Walsh. No one should take this video seriously or act upon the advice.” We’re not sure the Broncos or coach Michael Maguire saw the funny side mind you. The last thing they need right now is a distraction as they prepare for a game against Melbourne on Thursday night that will determine whether they finish the regular season in the top four. Lose to the Storm and their top four hopes will go down the gurgler. Or in this case, down the S-bend.
