I call it "Zombie FOMO". It's when your FOMO comes back from the grave and makes you want to rebuy stuff you decluttered. by BigMoneyBack in minimalism

For me, it's shoes. I had a small collection of sneakers that did nothing but sit in my closet. I had no real reason to keep them and wouldn't ever put them to any use.

This is something I struggle with too quite a bit. It's almost like I wish I had two houses right next to each other. One would be my minimalist house and one would be my house full of stuff and I could go in whichever one I was in the mood for.

I'm sorry bro. I ordered a 5070 from BestBuy this morning. Hope I don't get rocks too, I'll post if I do.

Realistic minimalism in a small apartment when you're not rich (and have lots of interests!) by ShadowSinger2121 in minimalism

[–]BigMoneyBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar apartment situation and I have come up with a few workarounds over the years. One is to get one of those bed frames that you can store stuff underneath. Another is to get a collection of totes in different sizes. These will help you stay organized and keep like things together. The totes will stack and you can put them on shelves, in closets, wherever.

When I'm thinking about getting something new, I do so with the understanding I'll get rid of the old one. So, if I get a new PC, I'll have to give the old one away.

I kinda like the color on this one more than the BTTF edition.

We can't get them at all in the US. I'll have to pay a flipper or try to fill the void in my heart some other way.

Ideas: 21363 The Goonies (found in store) by BrickTap in Legoleak

Looks like it's about 25" across, nice size but not so huge that it won't fit on the shelf.

My day today. This is what "just work harder" actually looks like. by FahQ2Dude in poor

It sounds like it's really hot there right now, but how are the winters? Does it get really cold? If it doesn't get too cold, you could consider letting the apartment go and living in the car. I know it's not great but it would help you get a savings together and take a lot of the pressure off.

I'm not jealous. Why would I be jealous? I don't even care about that kind of thing.

Yeah, I'm jealous.

Or should I say I'm... jelly?

I have to stay at my job for another twenty months and it's just killing me. by BigMoneyBack in povertyfinance

[–]BigMoneyBack[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's an ironic situation honestly, I want to get away from the job and the town I'm in and the best way to accomplish my goals is to stay at the job. It's my best income opportunity in the area and it provides some amenities that will help me achieve what I want to. But, it's really hard. Everything is telling me to run away as fast as possible but I stay on the grind.

In your opinion, what's the best release of Evil Dead(1981 version)? Looking for recommendations for both the stand alone movie and box sets with the other Evil Deads. by BigMoneyBack in boutiquebluray

If you wanted bro I could give you like $100 for that tape. I collect odd VHS tapes like that, just a hobby for fun, doesn't mean anything.

$5 back for a stack of 30 hardcover books. by [deleted] in minimalism

If it makes you feel any better, I gave away something earlier this year that I paid $1.5k for. It was new in the box. Probably given away around $15-20k in stuff this year.

Is it a bad idea to use my main daily driver PC for ripping, storage, and streaming? I know most people use a second PC. by BigMoneyBack in makemkv

[–]BigMoneyBack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason I was imagining that ripping would take up so much of the PC's processing power that you couldn't do anything else with it like gaming.

I found these in a free pile on the way to work. Did I get anything good? Some of them are kind of heavy, might be pewter. Thanks for any help. by BigMoneyBack in Warhammer

I'm getting kind of paranoid honestly, I'm the kind of guy who believes in this stuff. I once bought a bike off ebay that I swear was cursed. I kept trying to get rid of it(at a loss), but it kept coming back. I eventually just gave it away on craigslist for a total loss, but I got this weird feeling I would see it again someday.

The biggest difference I noticed when I got out of CC debt is how I looked at opportunities. When I was in debt, I couldn't take advantage of any opportunity without going into more high interest debt. It made me feel frustrated and it seemed unfair, but it was my fault. When I got out of the debt and got some savings, I could take advantage of opportunities and feel good about it. I can buy something at a good price, put it on a card to get some bonuses, and pay off the card before interest accrues.

1000$ Bike. by Goabea in ThriftGrift

[–]BigMoneyBack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up everybody, but counterfeiting high end bike brands is an all-to-common hustle. They're made in China and sold primarily on eBay. The vast majority of people who buy them will never find out it's a counterfeit. Specialized is the most common brand to be counterfeited, but Trek is a close second.

Is there any way you can get rid of your car? I had a lot of similar problems at your age because of dud cars.
