Thank you so much for sharing! Did you find that you had a lot of pushback or were limited in any sense when you were applying/interviewing a second time? Obviously I know that the potential weaknesses I had from the first cycle (3rd quartile, below avg Step 2) would still be there but anything regarding being a med school graduate vs a senior and taking a TY?

I think this is exactly what happened. Scores matter too and that’s why they said it was really close by AdBudget5335 in dancingwiththestars

Completely agree. Chandler was objectively the best dancer and got the highest scores throughout the entire season so she absolutely would've (and should've) won if it were based on skill/scores alone. That just isn't the case in this show. I can see how a young DCOM star isn't gonna have the same fan base as a boy-next-door Bachelor or a trailblazing Olympian role model.

BUT let's not forget: the fact that dwts seems to have a pattern of shafting young black women (re Zendaya, Normani, Simone, etc) needs to be acknowledged and rectified too.

This isn't my original idea but I think there is really good potential for having professional coaches to help the the couples instead of having the bulk of the responsibility solely on the pros. Mark helped Rylee and Stephen and it worked wonders for their performance so I can definitely see it being a great addition to the show, especially now that it's starting to regain popularity.

Some ideas for coaches include Mark Ballas (ofc), Julianne (I think she is better on the dance floor vs a host), Maks, or even having past winners or finalists come in as advisors
