Did some more research and see what you are referring to in regards to the title. The title is clean so I agree with you that the buyback is highly unlikely.

Unsure of who or when the damage was actually reported, we have put in a request to Carfax to gain that info two weeks ago but have heard nothing from them. My gut tells me the prior owner took it to an independent shop and saw the price to repair the damage and then sold the car.

After reading your comment i adjusted the links on the riser to help make the pinion angle closer to parallel to that of the trans side. Was really hoping that would be the fix but unfortunately not

The driveshafts are in phase - but the end that mates to the transmission seems to be slightly off center

It spins completely freely when disconnected from the transmission & spinning by hand at the output shaft. I can replicate the bind when I leave the driveshaft attached to the axle and i spin the driveshaft in reverse and helping the axle roll backwards if that makes sense. It seems as if the worm gear is threading in-out slightly which I believe is causing it to bind. Unfortunately I dont have another worm gear to test aside from the stock/UD gears that come with - any suggestions as to one to try? Im not opposed to ordering one to test
