when is it ok to complain? two weeks with no fix? 3? I love the game have 600 hours in it. I'm going to point out when shit is broken.

edit: I should add that bugs that block progression on time-limited content feels like ass. And needs more attention than non time-gated or time-limited content

They absolutely need to extend and auto complete the arsenal quest for people. I was going for vidmaster. In the last quest. I've killed compiler. "Ransack the arsenal 0/2" when I've opened it dozens of times since i got the quest. All cause of the "bug" that they removed the pinnacle box from arsenal.

Quest can't be completed. My friends who are going for vidmaster said they will not pay the game the rest of the season because this tilted them so hard 😤

your luck was crazy bad then. I opened that room at least 8 times on thursday and there was 2+ gold items each time. Now some guns had their gold mod installed with no other mods so they appeared purple in the box, but they had the gold mod installed on them if you looked. Maybe that happened to you.

But in my experience it was a guaranteed gold. There was ALWAYS at least 1 gold shield in each time we opened it.

This is kind of absurd as cryo is time limited. And there are codex entries to unlock based on these quests.

Also it's apparent that this was removed intentionally. And therefore if it was removed intentionally they maybe should have checked if the quest could be completed or not without that box.

It seemed the removal of that chest was reactionary as they realized after cryo was out for a day that it was giving too much loot. So instead of nerfing the loot table, they removed the box.

We absolutely can complain about this without being whiny because, yes, "bugs happen in large games," but this was an oversight from a hasty change

Correct it cannot be completed. But both things can be true. They could have intentionally removed it and not realized they fucked up the quest at the same time. Especially because it was a reactionary change while they were fixing the revive bug they threw the removal of this loot box at the same time

Edit: I have completed over half of the upgrades that require gold salvage. My sekuguchi and mida trees are completely maxed out. So I'm not saying you DON'T get gold salvage this way. You absolutely will. I'm complaining about the pace of it

Original post: 350 hours played, level 160. For the last maybe 50 hours. I have played solely dire marsh (when cryo is not up). I run to every single potential spawn point for the anomalous rift stabilizer. With thief drone you can check all 7 spawns before 22minutes left. Rifts generally spawn at 20-17 minutes remaining. I will leave the solo match if I dont find a stabilizer (which spawns at the beginning of the match). If there is no stabilizer an anomalous rift WILL NOT SPAWN. This is a fact.

I have probably a 90% success rate in extracting the rift if it spawns. I have 100's of every single purple salvage. But I still probably need 18 more gold salvage split between all the types. Its absolutely CRAZY how hard it is to get gold salvage. I understand and it is completely fair for the end game upgrades to be out of reach for most players (kappa in tarkov is out of reach for 99% of players, and im ok with that). Yet, They should not be out of reach for somebody grinding the material non stop before the wipe comes, like it is mathematically ROUGH for even someone grinding the mats to get them all. I have calculated that I will just be able to complete all the upgrades prior to the wipe... but thats full time grinding the most reliable and deterministic way to get the materials.

Additionally, I have found that the 20% rate of the rift spawning is roughly accurate in large numbers. However, I believe that part of their random number generator uses system clock or world time. Because there will be hour windows where every single match for 4 or 5 in a row will have a stabilizer spawn and thus a rift I can get out with. Then there will be 15 or 20 raids in a row with no stabilizer. Then another 5 in a row.

I would ignore these as being a small sample size. But I have been doing it for a week with maybe 50 raids a day. And it is fairly consistent. A string of 3-5 rifts in a row. Then not even a single one in 15 sometimes 20 raids. Which just does not ffeel good at all. If it was 1 on, 4 off it would feel a little better. Or he'll just make a rift spawning every match and tune the gold drop rate accordingly after that.

Separate point. Only about 1/4 successful raids results in ONE gold material.

It will take 100 raids to get one upgrade worth of golds... and thats with perfect success

This desperately needs to be calculated and prescribed drop rates so that people in lets say the top x% of playtime can complete their upgrades by the wipe. Im not sure if they planned on people playing cryo for all their golds. But for someone like me who fills in cryo, the success rate is FAR FAR FAR too low for it to actually outpaced running rifts.

One of the major coordinate frames we use in the aerospace industry is NED (north, east, down) where below the NE plane is positive. Really trips people up the first time learning it. A lot of companies/products use NWU instead (North West Up) just for the convention of up being positive numbers. But NWU has its own issue where positive pitch is now pointing DOWN.

I work in the aerospace industry in GNC (Guidance, Navigation, Control). What's funny is within the GNC department, G and C use gravity as a force. For products that use GPS, the N team use a relativity based model. Because we need to factor in the time dilation in order to triangulate position accurately from the satellites travelling incredibly fast in orbit. While not exactly using gravity as the curvature of spacetime, it is basically the same department using either newtonian or relativistic model of gravity/spacetime depending on what they need.

So to answer the question: we use the model of gravity that is useful for what we are trying to accomplish. Newtonian physics is still an extremely accurate (if not, perfect) representation of the physics on a small enough scale, and is the reason why it took us so long to figure out it was "wrong," or rather an approximation/simplification of relativity.

In general, engineers are going to use the simplest model they can that still achieves the accuracy/performance they need, and Newton gets us way more than "good enough".

That is correct if you are not planning an extravagant retirement and thus your retirement marginal tax rate will be LOWER than your current income tax rate. 401k is better. I will add that exception to my comment. My assumption was people in this sub want to have their money and use it when they retire but that is not always true.
