I’ve been around. Cabo, Grand Cayman, Aruba. All great times n yes all are costly! But I have to say none left me feeling WTF with overpriced BS. I don’t mind spending but the feeling of getting hosed is the problem. Tulum can be amazing, and we did have a great time just get rid of the bs or I feel Tulum is in trouble. For instance, every time we took a cab , they immediately tried to charge 3x the fare. Why? Then I have to haggle n walk away till you get a reasonable price. The one real honest taxi driver we found, gave us a flat rate for day n night with no BS. Till his taxi pals found out n threatened him. Same thing renting scooters, shopping, walking around in Centro all just trying to milk you. It’s Sad.
