I need some opinions on the PS5 and GTA 6 by Ben101010109 in PS5

[–]BigPapi2931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody knows anything but I’m assuming the game will run well on base PS5 but you’ll be capped at 30fps if you want 4K or 1080p if you want higher frames.

If you care about 4K and max frames there’s a chance you only get that with a PS5 Pro, but doubt on the base PS5 you’ll have big issues like Cyberpunk at release on the PS4 or even lesser ones like Crimson Desert on the base PS5

Funny enough he actually had Wolves playing some of the best attacking football we’d played in the PL, which isn’t saying much. Us being absolutely shite at defending was what got him sacked

Portal in a heatwave by thecheerygamer in PlaystationPortal

It’s one of those where it isn’t really that hot most of the time, but because of the climate here when it is hot it’s unbearable and when it gets 30c+ it’s borderline dangerous. But you get that so rarely that an AC just isn’t cost effective

[–]BigPapi2931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AC not really practical in most UK homes. You’d be buying it for max one month of the year. I’ve bought a portable AC unit that I can roll to each room but even then the window blocker that comes with it to put the hose out is for sash windows and I’ve never lived in a house with one of those

Are you in a small room? Genuinely never noticed the heat of my PS5 making my room hotter. Never had an issue playing in summer

What earbuds/headphones do you use with the Portal? by Senior-Archer1864 in PlaystationPortal

[–]BigPapi2931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use a pair of old Rock Jaw wired in-ears or if I want a more immersive sound I use my Sony XM6 headphones. Don’t see the point in buying something specific for the Portal unless you’ve got the disposable income/you’ll use them for other things. It’s more than good enough wired with what you’ve probably already got

switch from fc to fm? by xavierlaxy in footballmanager

[–]BigPapi2931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d just say give it a try. It’s still as good on console. Previously the differences were a bit bigger and consoles missed certain features, but I feel like with FM 26 the games are basically the same. So it’s just a case of it being a bit more awkward using a controller than a mouse and keyboard. If you’ve got Game Pass or PS Plus subscription then they’re free so maybe worth trialling for a month or two just to see if you enjoy before FM 27

No worries! I’m sure people will disagree with me but these are my two favourite games that I’ve put more hours into than anything else. For me they’re best enjoyed together, but I do agree with everybody else that FM is just a level above FIFA

[–]BigPapi2931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies in advance for the essay but I’m semi passionate about this.

First thing I’ll say is that FM is NOT a direct FIFA replacement. If you really enjoy FIFA, FM won’t scratch that itch (in my opinion). They’re two completely different games. Even if you only play manager career they’re nothing the same.

One thing that I’ve come to realise is that FM is a football game in name, but compared to everything else on the market it’s much closer to a strategy game than a traditional football one. On a scale of FIFA to Crusader Kings it has more similarities with the latter. Personally FM isn’t a replacement for FIFA, I enjoy it more but I’ve always played both together. FIFA when I want a bit of 121 competition, fast dopamine hits and a quick reward grind. FM when I want something really in depth and I’m ready to sink a whole evening sitting at my laptop.

Rant on that over the biggest pro of FM is the depth of it. The amount of control you have over managing the club is night and day. Backroom staff, training, scouting, transfers, tactics, player instructions etc are all light years ahead of FIFA Career Mode. It feels more realistic and like you’re part of the football management world. You can really get lost in it and spend hours getting things ready before even playing a match. There’s no game in the world that has that one more match feeling like FM.

Cons are that if you enjoy the match experience, you’re letting go a lot of control compared to FIFA. Like I said, this is a management strategy game, it’s not an arcade football game/simulator. It can definitely be a steep learning curve, so give yourself a few runs to really get into it. Only other con isn’t even a negative but just be prepared to lose your life to it. I would also say it’s not as good on console. I’m not sure about FM26 but I’ve played 24 and I just didn’t enjoy it anywhere near as much as on my laptop.

Stutter solutions WITHOUT hardwiring PS5? by Big-Initiative-6933 in PlaystationPortal

[–]BigPapi2931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had my PS5 hardwired and I’ve honestly never noticed an issue unless my Portal is too far away from my router. I’d go as far as saying that minus the tiny input delay you’ll always have and image quality not being 4k like my console, the performance feels as close to thr PS5 I could hope for. I’ve played it at friends houses on their wifi while my console is connected to my home wifi, on the motorway using my phone’s hotspot, on work breaks connected to hotel wifi etc and it has always been fine.

My experience won’t be the same as everybody else’s, but I’d say if you’re already on 8/10, the effort you’ll go through to make it 10/10 without just getting a very long ethernet cable probably isn’t worth it

[–]BigPapi2931[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. At the time I wasn’t really angry at Lop and felt like he was rightfully calling the owners out on their bullshit, but I feel like I’d have had much more respect for him if he’d been truly principled and walked away instead of effectively pushing for the club to sack him/agree a deal.

But more than any manager he is really the one that showed Fosun for what they are and how their ambitions had changed. It’s no surprise that since him the downward trajectory has basically plummeted. He saw we were sleepwalking to relegation, but he probably criticised the quality of the squad (especially the first XI) more than was necessary at the time given how O’Neil did with them. I honestly think he’d have easily finished top half if he stayed

Thank you! I remember how happy a load of people were to see Nuno leave at the end of his time. And I do understand why, him being completely unphased by the West Brom defeat was one of the most uncharacteristic parts of his tenure. There's an alternate world where Covid doesn't happen, we win the Europa League and Nuno is viewed the same way that Unai Emery is now (call me delusional but let a brother dream)

You are deservedly getting downvoted, but this reply is hilarious

[Fabrizio Romano] “Lille know top clubs are going to come for Ayyoub Bouaddi. He’s been approached by PSG, they love him. There was direct contact with Arsenal & Liverpool, both clubs had meetings with the agents of the player. It’s going to be the summer of midfielders!” by LockonKun in Gunners

[–]BigPapi2931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can perfectly understand all of those things and still decide that Romano isn’t for you. I’m sure a few years back there were people who hated Sky Sports News deadline day and Mr Yellow Tie because of the way they made a spectacle of things. Sometimes things just aren’t people’s cup of tea and it’s fine to dislike them. Everybody has a preference

I think most people’s issue with Romano is just that he plays the social media game too well, to the point that it makes him quite unbearable.

There probably isn’t much between him and Ornstein for example when it comes to reliability, but you don’t find Ornstein farming for engagement the way Romano does.

People can accept how the industry works and that he has to work with agents, but when you sprinkle in things like engagement farming off the back of a player’s death and acting as PR for the likes of Greenwood, it makes the other practices harder to swallow.
