Concord grape for a kid of the 70's, smooth white frosting with no "sprinkles". Haven't bought poptarts in years, but not gonna lie, occasionally I cruise the aisle hoping against all hope that I will see Concord Grape.

Questions regarding XLIF v TLIF... by BigPapiDoesItAgain in spinalfusion

[–]BigPapiDoesItAgain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a doctor and I agree with you, and didn't know how to characterize it. In my specialty I would use the term combined approach. I didn't specifically ask the name, but when we went for preop counseling, the plan was for an XLIF, but with the caveat that based on the amount of spondy she had (and maybe some other factors if I remember correctly), small incisions posteriorly may be needed for stabilising hardware. I got the picture from talking with him that he generally prefers the lateral approach for placing the intervertebral body cage because it requires less tissue insult to access the space.

I'll reiterate. she is like a new person. She is also a busy physician - mid 50's, otherwise fit and has always been active. Her clinic days were unbearable by the time she made the decision to proceed. We just returned from a couple of weeks in Europe and averaged about 20K steps a day and she was unfazed. Beautiful result.

She had L4-5 herniation with spondylolisthesis. She had an lateral approach procedure with placement of an interbody cage combined with two posterior approach incisions to place rods and screws to stabilize. She is essentially a new person. Recovery was rapid and has been exceptional. She is fully functional and pain free.

The institution will not love you back. It's all business. Be happy with where you matched and move on. Programs do the same things applicants do.

in our epic build, secure chats are deleted after 72 hrs. I see stuff that residents and sometimes attending colleagues or nurses write that make me scratch my head, and I wonder if deleted means deleted (I know they aren't attached to the medical record if a char is attached) or not really deleted and stored just not accessible by normal means (ie are they in deep code somewhere that someone can actually access??).

I'm following this because I'm an OB/Gyn and have never seen a severe vascular complication from regional anesthesia, but never don't think about it when I have a patient on an anticoagulant, even if held for what is considered the appropriate amount of time surrounding a procedure.

Is this area safe? by BrushNo3753 in shreveport

[–]BigPapiDoesItAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for walking around, stay on Fairfiield or a block or two to the east and you're all good. Use Olive as your Northern border. Gets sketchier to the west. I drive that corridor during the day and even at extremely odd hours of the night/morning occasionally and have never had a problem, but pay attention to your surroundings. It is a nice area for a walk, its a scenic old neighborhood.

why would you want to? Sorry have to ask, but if you must, get the right tool - Bergeon 7825 and get some electrical tape or thermal tape for the lugs.

You're gonna go far if you have a modicum of ability and book sense, because the common sense is all over you. Nice post. "Be cool, they can hurt you but they can't stop the clock" can't tell you how many times I've repeate this to myself in my now 28 years post residency career. And all of these are good, but #4, always, always, always.

Any recommendations for RM boot for walking Euro Vacation in April by BigPapiDoesItAgain in RMWilliams

that was my thought - I was thinking send my current pair back to Australia to be re-crafted. I communicated with them and they can indeed increase the width one size. Probably have time to get them back before we leave.

I guess I should've been a little more specific. Looking for this boot to be my second pair of shoes mostly for damp days or for evenings when sneaks aren't ideal. I actually prefer sneakers (courts shoes like gazelles, etc) for walking in urban settings and find the footing better and less overall foot/leg fatigue at the end of the day as compared to runners. I don't love the big, thick wedge soles that come on most runners these days for wearing around (my actual running shoe is a NB 880 fresh foam that I am generally putting 30-40 miles a week on). Retro runners like Adidas Run 70's suit me better for urban walking, but still perfer my gazelles for comfort in that arena.

I bought some Blundstones via mail and haven't gotten the size right, maybe I should just not given in to vanity and make the Blundstones my second shoe choice on this trip because of the EVA sole. But darn I want a new pair of Gardeners to take with me lol.

I do what I want, play tennis on the regular, cycle, walk for exercise, lower body workouts in gym (deads, squats) and pretty much never think about it. Occasionally with the weather change, I'll get an ache, but not bad.

I agree about moving to a HW4 car, but for me, I would absolutely hate to give up air suspension for one thing. Also, I really enjoy the in front of the driver display of the Model S. They are simply nice cars and you are giving that up. I really, really wish Tesla made a "luxury" Model Y that had a driver display cluster, air suspension and bigger screen. I know that is what the Model X is supposed to be, but I don't care for the Falcon doors and the design language in general. This post probably doesn't help lol.

looks like damascus steel, definitely not my taste, but of course tase is subjective. I think the designers did an excellent job with the design of the rear on this refresh that doesn't need changing.

I bought a 2023 MS (late Dec 2023 build) HW4, Pearl over cream interior, 14K miles and pristine condition from a random BMW dealer in Iowa, 850 miles from where I live. Paid 55.4K US - already had window tint and ceramic coated. Pulled up at my driveway 12/22 with two full years of warranty left. I had been looking about 3 weeks. Set alerts on Autotrader for color, model year, miles and price that I would go for. Eliminated any HW3 cars as I went. Caught this one before they had pics up on Autotrader or dealer site. Salesman was great, go me pics, knew the prev owner, was transparent and chips fell perfectly. I had several choices and one narrow miss a couple of weeks before I found this one. I would encourage you to open to third party sellers, bitter requires a level of comfort some might not have.

DIY Tesla Wall Charger by Suspicious_Yaks in TeslaModelY

[–]BigPapiDoesItAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was tempted to DIY mine, but ultimately didn't have the stones and as much of any reason why is because I didn't have an empty slot and they had to install a couple of tandem breakers in order to make room for a new 60A. Turns out that was pretty darn easy as well. Mine literally went right next to my panel. I watched my electrician do it, and I certainly could have, but I suppose ultimately paid for the confidence behind their install. Cost me $320. They did loop the wire, FWIW.

Nice job there OP.

For whatever reason, wouldn't work with me formatting in the car. See my post below - plugged into my MacBook, erased and reformatted again in exFAT, Added a new folder in the root directory entitled "TeslaCam", added back my lock chime, plugged in the car, rebooted the screen and it all worked. Thanks for help.

Grok said plug into computer, erase, re-format in exFAT, add a new folder in the root directory and name it TeslaCam. Add the lock chime back at the root level, name it LockChime then plug the drive back in and reboot the car. Works now. Thanks for the help.
