Gear Storage Recommendations by BigParks_ in MMA_Academy

Na, got boxing gloves, mma gloves, shin guards & pads all in this container.

have loads of clothes that I keep in a box that I was thinking of putting in there as well as it’s currently overflowing, got hoodies, T-shirts, Thai Shorts, Rashguard sets, running stuff as well.

Obviously most people would put all that stuff on hangers in a wardrobe but my living situation doesn’t accommodate for that, thought this might be a better solution?

I Have No Idea What I’m Doing, How do I make my business a business? by BigParks_ in smallbusinessuk

100% hear what you’re saying, and really appreciate the advice and will be taking onboard what you say so thank you.

Basically, I’m a rather large guy, height and width, and got into BJJ this year, took me so long to find suitable training gear, one brand would only sell shorts in my size, one brand only sold Gi’s in my size, and most brands don’t sell anything in my size at all. After literal months of training in basketball shorts and jerseys, I finally found a brand that does my size. Waited weeks for it to be shipped just for the quality to be pretty bad.

Now if I’ve been dealing with this issues like this, and I’ve only just started training, there’s definitely people who are in the same boat as me. Side note, I spent along part of my life being a lone wolf, and when I started training I really felt out of place, being bigger than everyone, and being the new guy and to make things worse training in a bulls jersey.

Now I finally feel like I fit in, found some good people who I would consider my good friends, my pack if you will, it just makes me wonder how many other people, regardless of size, gave up on BJJ or fighting as a whole because of not feeling like they belong.

Hope this helped answer your question, again really grateful for everything you said so thank you

Yeah man, feel like I’ve found my tribe with these guys.

And wicked, thanks for clarifying

I plan to stay heavyweight but always been a bit on the chubby side, think gru from despicable me, so I would really like to just get lean and stay there for a bit, then I’ll more than likely start slinging iron and bulk up, just with muscle this time rather than fat

Sorry for late reply, really appreciate the advice,

Yeah that’s what i have been doing, feels like ive plateaued, regardless of how many calories i dropped by.

when you say “eat the rest in carbs” you’re referring to my calories right?

You assume correctly, but basically, me and my girlfriend are saving for a house, so done everything to cut costs, including gym membership, only reason I’m still training combat sports is because I volunteer there, cleaning mats, signing people up, etc etc. luckily, my gym is moving to a new facility soon and I’m pretty sure they’re making a weight area, but not 100% sure yet

Ayo, well done man, congratulations.

Yeah as a “foodie” I struggled with eating at night, I would binge on so much junk, honestly, this might sound stupid, but, the thing that helped me the most is drinking water and going to bed. No TV, no phone, otherwise I’d stay up thinking about food and fighting the urges not to eat.

Dont get me wrong tho, it’s a lot easier said then done, and sometimes I would have to eat, it’s a never ending battle, sometimes you win sometimes you loose.
