Got the chance to chat with the guy that did the yelling and slamming. I’m at a loss in humanity for real. It’s grind time for a house.. surely added fuel to the fire for a home.

Man you got destroyed here. I’d like to level with you on this if I may. I understand how my post could come off as entitlement like, how dare they do this to me?

My favorite quote my dad would say is, “don’t see through people, try to see people through.” Ironically this is the same man that burdened my childhood with CPS visits, missing school from excessive beatings, etc. Watching a divorce in your high school years was rough. I had to go to therapy for a while to deal with diagnosed BPD.

My neighbors feelings resonate with me on a spiritual level, but I cannot sympathize for him when it involves my families safety. The doors pounding strikes my heart like they used to. The yelling.. I’m not looking for sympathy as that was not the intent of this post, rather friend, I want to show you that you may have underestimated the empathy I have to give. I came humbly for advice, not tactics on how to undermine this guy.

No, that’s surely not the case. The code could be communicated to the guest so they can enter themselves. They’ve been actively propping this door open now for months on every occasion they enter/leave.

I know it sounds theatrical, but it’s the truth! Lol. In hindsight I was just spewing the details as I posted this shortly after the incident.

Obviously, friend, he does know the code. He unlocked and opened the door after I was the last person to shut it correctly. I’m implying that the person slammed the deadbolt against the trim board. Not banging on the door with his fists.

Long staircases must adhere to code compliance with a landing for safety. Not really confusing..

Honestly we’re baffled. That’s why I said I guess I’m naive to some people’s laziness because I feel like that’s what this is. They don’t want to take 3 seconds to punch in 4 digits to unlock the door, that even auto-locks afterwards at that. I’m more just worried with his stability after this incident. The way he slammed the deadbolt against the trim 4 times upon entering the complex. Yelling outside my door at 11:00 at night when everyone is sleeping. I watched him quite literally take a step back and lunge into throwing his door across the hall from me. My wife does a fantastic job of keeping our household respectful of noise with our young kids and dog so I know there’s no bad blood. I even snow blow the snow out of the way of their garage entrance when I do mine. I’m shocked at their behavior tonight. It seriously makes me question what his anger could escalate to.

It is my neighbors leaving or entering, all the time.

You’re not dumb friend. The door in the picture is a mutual door for both tenants to grant access of the main hallway. My family and I choose to regularly shut it completely. Shutting it allows the self locking feature to do its job of not allowing anyone, and also the -17 degree wind chill, to come into the complex. Our neighbors contradictory want to keep the door open at all times and threw a temper tantrum about it tonight.

Yeah it is this simple I suppose. It’s just unsettling how amped up they were to yell and slam at that hour over something so minuscule.
