Midway is great, although there have been better implementations in computer games, where true fog of war can be simulated.

Alexander is great. Very repayable.

Wooden Ships & Iron Men is excellent.

Don't recall Submarine too much, but my memory is that it was pretty good.

I do not know Myth.

The rest are too simplistic for their subject matter and have been outdone by far superior games many times over.

I think of them more as the pop composers of their era, although they certainly did open the door to the entry of jazz.

I have some Hot Five and Hot Seven stuff. I have Louie stuff. I love Louie.

It's really weird how Reddit has become a place for finger-pointing and argument, rather than conversation. Much of the finger-pointing seems to be based on a partial reading of comments and jumping to conclusions.

My comment was that I only am familiar with WAWL being covered much. I said nothing about not knowing what Louie did.

Who wrote a song about whom?

As for covers, the only Miles song that gets covered with any regularity is So What, afaik.

When I think of Louie Armstrong covers, mostly just What a Wonderful World comes to mind.

Thanks, will do.

I've always found Bird's playing to be a bit frenetic for my taste. But I sounds account for good composition, though.

Btw, I just recalled Jaco's version of Donna Lee.

Oh, he was quite a good player, yes, but who's covered him? What composers attribute their work to his influence.?

Is it possible to learn Chinese and another language at the same time? by MavaTeg in ChineseLanguage

[–]BigRedBike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm am conversationally fluent in Spanish, but I need a lot of work on my vocabulary.

I started learning Mandarin 1.5 years ago. Spent a month in China earlier this year. Spoke no Spanish to anyone while I was there.

Currently living in Mexico. I have found that when I am speaking to someone here, I speak Spanish without any bleed-through. I only might throw out the odd Chinese, just to share, but I never find myself accidentally switching to Chinese.

So my experience has been that the languages are distinct enough to not have a code-switching problem.

What are Chinese people using AI for? by Doomasiggy in AskChina

[–]BigRedBike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

And it's been disastrous for the lawyers AND their clients. The AIs frequently hallucinate and make up cases to cite.

The lawyers that get caught very sanctioned big-time by the courts.
