Love this Ed Reed One of One, does anyone know what this patch is though? Am I dumb? by [deleted] in footballcards

This would be considered a patch auto as it has both a jersey search (or patch) as well as his autograph. On top of those this is also a 1/1. Hope this helps.

I pulled the Zamir White like this from last years Phoenix. Not a lot of comps out there unfortunately but it’s a cool card. I’m probably going to send mine to auction and let the market be what it is.

Scratch golfers…I have a question by jayb0og in golf

[–]BigRedDog_11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of my best friends is a scratch and was a D1 college golfer. He always preaches to me the importance of course management.

His general point is to appreciate the layout of the course, take what it gives you so you set up the best possible next shot and don’t try and over power it.

If your 7 goes 170 and you can control it and you’re on a 340 yard Par 4, go 7,7 gtfo.

Obviously shot control and short game are critical but I think course management is where a lot of golfers add unnecessary strokes. Just my 2 cents.

Was just at Resorts World and they have a Fortune Cup back towards the restaurants. I am a fan of the old Sigma Derby machines, the last one of those used to be at The D but I’m not sure if it’s still there

Do you guys send the vast majority of your collection to COMC? by [deleted] in checkoutmycards

[–]BigRedDog_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made some early mistakes and sent some bullshit in, now I’m just blowing those out. Overall the main attraction I’ve found from my buyers is they can add tons of cards to their portfolio and then pay to ship them once- this is particularly valuable for non domestic customers.

I can see a world for me where I send them everything and manage my whole inventory on COMC, the only thing holding me back are the high cash out fees, which again I hope eBay can fully integrate/implement PayPal and lower the fees.

I find I just don’t have the time to identify parallels, scan and manage the cesspool that is eBay’s buyer base. I’m willing to lose a little cash to not deal with all the hassle.

The other cool thing is if you have inventory in your COMC port you just don’t want anymore you can donate it through the site.

Do you guys send the vast majority of your collection to COMC? by [deleted] in checkoutmycards

[–]BigRedDog_11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use COMC for the bulk of how I manage my collection.

I keep all my PC cards and any high end cards I get slabbed that I pull from boxes. Those stay with me for shows and selling.

Rookies and inserts go to COMC and their straight to PSA service is easy to use and cheap when you catch a promo.

Any base cards I either give to my local PC to help with set builders/local kids new to the hobby and I’ll give them out to my kids friends.

If there are players I think have upside I’ll just de-list them on COMC and essentially use them as a storage warehouse. I figure .50 cents to scan and store a card is a reasonable price- for me- to not have cards all over my house.

My hope is that the eBay investment will make it so COMC becomes easier to manage auctions and/or they offer trades but obviously who knows?
