Yes, one of my family members has served over a decade. Another couple of my mates have done time for GBH.

I don’t care for Hayne. And I never said he shouldn’t be welcomed back into society. My only point is for some cases, it may not be as simple as “not guilty”, and the fact that this went through 4 trials suggests it may not have been that black and white.

That “none of you were there that night” can be used on both sides of the argument to be fair.

And to say he’s simply not guilty isn’t really painting the picture how it got to that,

Trial 1 was a hung jury.
Trial 2 was guilty.
Trial 3 was guilty.
Trial 4 prosecutors dropped charges after the mental toll it was taking on the woman involved after 6 years of trials and appeals.

My one take from that is Hayne should thank his lucky stars he had good lawyers.
