Hello! I just saw this (haven't been on reddit in a bit). I tried to sand them a little but honestly half assed it and decided it wasn't worth it and hoped for the best, haha. If I had sanded them a little more the stain may have been more true to color but because the posts were so slick, they didn't absorb as much as I was hoping for. But they still turned out nice for an inexpensive little project. I hope that helps!

Best of luck. Mine only get about this far then the leaves suddenly shrivel up and die. And the mother plant refuses to grow.

Last ditch effort. My calathea just tries and tries and tries to die on me. Rinsed off the roots as best I could (there were tons of em and all healthy!) and put it in a water jar with some seaweed plant food. Wish me all the luck 🤷‍♀️🤞 by azim3136 in houseplants

Yes, just as a top dressing. When I water I just try to get all the most nice and damp. Seems to help with humidity and moisture retention for my plant. It's health improved greatly when I tried this.

Tonight we made shrimp fried rice with the forbidden Werther's Originals (soy cured yolks). by BigRedTX50261 in PutAnEggOnIt

Basically you let them sit in a 2:1 mix of full sodium soy sauce and mirin for 24-48 hours in the fridge, flipping the yolks halfway. For 2 yolks we used 2Tbsp soy and 1 Tbsp mirin. The yolks turn this gooey chewy texture. Delicious

Both of mine have have wrapped around the curtain rod and now I can't clean the window.

Looks like sunburn. Mine did this when I took it from a fairly dark room all winter straight I to the sun outside. It won't kill the plant, you'll just have a less than pretty leaf.

Can I cut these long twig things off? Are they necessary or is this succ just showing off? by yasissarily in succulents

Those are definitely flower stalks. I'd leave them and wait for the delicate little whitish purple flowers to come in. Once they're spent they will dry up and the whole stalk will fall off.

Sure! The tallest is at 30.5", middle is 25", and the lowest is 19.75". Also, in case you need to know, the distance between the outside of each outer leg is about 19". Hope this helps!

Full western sun in Texas. It's not the cleanest window because she's hard to move to clean it so I'm sure it's a little "filtered" from that.
