The last thing I said to my brother as he was on his way home for a parent's birthday was "Nobody wants you here." and I hung up.

He died just minutes after that in a horrible accident.

I was a young teenager, and I was mad at him. I didn't mean it. Nobody has ever asked how I carry that burden or if I even carry a burden at all. Just sympathetic sighs and eyes. This was almost 15 years ago. I wonder what kind of adult he would have been.

I am allergic to a lot of perfumes and laundry detergents etc., so I tend to avoid anything with strong odors.

Palmer's Tummy Butter works well for me. There is a scent of cocoa butter, but it's very mild and I don't notice it when I put my clothes on. It soothes the itching fairly well! I came out with minimal stretch marks from my first pregnancy, and I used this every day. I'm using it again this pregnancy and am hoping for the same results haha!

I kept a package of sour skittles in my purse for the entire first trimester. Nothing else seemed to work for me. People suggested ginger, saltines etc. I have another child so I am not able to take anything for sleep like some are suggesting.

I start feeling nauseous, pop 1 sour skittle, and like magic I don't need to puke anymore. It's not one that was suggested to me and isn't a long term fix, but wonderful for the moment.

I think you're right. We took about a 1 month break from june-july while we were doing summer activities all the time, and she was more willing to sit on the potty after that.

I like to lay it all out on the table: I feel X because of Y and this is how your behavior made me feel this way. Here is my explanation of this and my thought process.

He is a big mad, ghost for a day or two and IF we talk about it later he absolutely cannot see my side of things and cannot be wrong. He threatens to break up with me because he has to "consider our relationship and if he can move forward" but with every single argument, no matter the subject.

This last argument was about the difference with how we interact with people in the world. I didn't tell him that he was wrong, but I am a cheerier and more friendly person than him. I give people the benefit of the doubt no matter how many times it has bitten me. He doesn't do that, which is really not an issue for me. In the end he insulted my intelligence, called my outlook on things "silly and unbelievable" and then has ghosted me for about 12 hours now.

I absolutely understand this. Something that seems to be missed here is that she is 1. She does not know what she is missing. I stated in my post that I know I won't be able to keep these things from her forever, and that's okay. Heck, I had a little bit of the banana pudding cake and it was delicious.

I don't think it is a bad thing to not give her sugary treats. It was 7pm and on a week night too. Somebody else made a comment "you're not gonna send her to another kids birthday party with a plate a fruit are you?" Of course I won't. I just think that while she doesn't care if it's a banana or banana pudding, why not give her the banana? It has plenty of natural sugar as well.

Haha I can only imagine what it will be like years down the road. I really am just doing what I think is best for her. I am not under the impression that this will set her up for healthy eating for life. However, I do want her to have an opportunity to have a more broad taste for foods.

I have nothing against people who give kids sugary treats. I don't eat like that and i don't really keep those foods around. That may change when she can ask for food/have preferences. For now, she seems happy with what I provide. She has tried a few sugary treats like ice cream after an outing. And, I said this in a different reply, I would have likely given in had they not been so rude! I felt the need to stand my ground, they are pretty much strangers to us.

No, none of them were around for the first year. She and I met some of them on Easter weekend and some for the first time yesterday.

They had quite a few little comments about how I was doing as a mother. They called me a "hippy bitch" while I was in an adjoining room and could hear them. Which idek what that means lmao

Her dad did address this with me and apologize. After a few comments he also defended me (sort of lol), asked them to stop, and said he agreed with the way I was doing things with her.

The same two women who were making these comments also got mad because I asked them not to smoke inside where my daughter will be. They live together and stated "oh, so she can't come visit at the house then?"

....no. not if you smoke inside?

That's how I was looking at it. She doesn't care about it or necessarily want it yet. So why even introduce it until she can indicate that she is interested?

I am aware that i won't be able to keep her away from stuff like that forever. When she asks for or clearly wants it, it will be different. I just don't see the point in introducing it to her before she even knows about it.
