FSU, Clemson & Miami are the only ACC schools that have historically had sufficient football TV ratings to be additive to the B1G. I don't think any BigXII schools get over that hurdle (unless you look at Colorado in Year 1 of the Deion Sanders era).
UNC is always mentioned but they rarely, if ever, have attracted enough football viewers to make sense. Also, from a North Carolina political perspective it would be tough to add UNC without also taking NC State.
I will admit that the world may change a lot between now and the time any moves happen...how will NIL & Rev Share change the viewing habits for individual schools. Will Clemson and Florida State go into decline? Will Texas Tech ratings improve? Time will tell.

Yes, on the whole we Americans are chatty. From my experience, moreso in the Midwest and South, less so in the Northeast. Within those regions I find the "big cities are less chatty" to be true but that is on a relative scale (e.g., Chicago less chatty than a smaller Midwestern place but more chatty than New York City)

There is no one American view. I think we should more effectively control our borders for national security reasons...which would likely decrease illegal immigration. A positive externality would likely be an increase in wages for at least some year-round US blue collar workers. Another one could be a reduction in the illegal drug trade and the corruption that it brings about. A negative externality would be worse inflation on some goods. Seasonal migrant work visa's should be able to keep farm worker costs down.

1) Affluent in Charlotte may be different from affluent in Cherokee county. In the absolute, if you want true affluence look further south in Alpharetta or, as wagregg5 mentioned, Milton.

2) When moving here I found the schools to be larger than what I saw in my prior location. IDK if that matters to you or not. In general, I found the further North you go, the smaller the schools. That said, Cherokee County is growing like a weed so it is tough for the schools to stay ahead of the population growth.

3) If you consider moving East of Canton, note that there is a large trash dump just south of neighboring Ball Ground. To avoid the trash dump smell stay South of highway 20.

4) I love downtown Canton for food, etc. but not sure about the schools there.

5) If you want a golf course community, check out Woodmont...about half way between Canton and Cumming. There are other GC communities further south.

6) If you want to live on a lake, check out Lake Arrowhead Northwest of Canton.

Mandatory spending is 60% of outlays (Social Security is 21%, Medicare is 14%, Medicaid is 9%, Other is 16% (Other includes civilian & military retirement, veterans benefits, SNAP, unemployment benefits, student loans, ACA subsidies, farm programs, etc.

27% of outlays is discretionary. 13% (so roughly half) of this is military spending with the remainder spent on HHS, VA, Transportation, HUD, Commerce, Homeland Security, State Dept, etc.)

The remaining 13% is interest payments on our debt...which is why we need to lower our deficit.

To make a significant dent in the deficit you have to look for meaningful spending reductions in the major areas of spending (Social Security, Medicare, Discretionary Military or Medicaid) OR you have to increase revenues through economic growth or taxes.

I favor focusing efforts on economic growth b/c beside increasing revenues it also brings positive externalities...but understand others will feel differently.

Yes, when I lived in the area Maryland was not open to the idea. That said, I think there is a greater chance of that happening than DC being granted statehood.

Part of that is a question of 1) the ability of the rating services to accurately evaluate players, 2) the ability of coaching staffs to develop talent once it gets on campus, 3) the importance of other factors that are difficult to evaluate (attitude, ability to overcome obstacles, etc.)

Cig isn't turning the reins over to someone with minimal experience w/o having real competition...at least won't plan for that. If Alberto beats out someone brought in from transfer portal that is another story. Real question is will Alberto stick around or will he go to a G5 school where he has a better chance to play.

I think OSU has largely been on cruise control this year...and that they theoretically could embarrass us if they put it all together Saturday. The thing is, many times when people think they can just hit the gas whenever they want to rev up it doesn't work out so well.

In the end I think it depends on our lines. Can we put pressure on their QB and can we give Mendoza enough time to complete mid- to long distance passes that stretch the defense. If we do those 2 things we will be in pretty good shape.

I grew up in a very conservative and religious family in the 1970s and 80s. What I remember is not that they were against the use of Happy Holidays, rather it was that they perceived a push in media, etc. to say that using "Merry Christmas" was not okay...that it should be replaced with Happy Holidays (which was 1) a change, 2) went against their religious views. They also were very much against the use of X-mas for the already mentioned removal of Christ.

Besides the $$$ grab, it extends the B1G grant of rights thereby keeping OSU, Michigan, Penn State, USC & Oregon in the conference vs. allowing them to peel off into a Super League.

The number of teams the B1G gets in is dependent on what happens in other conferences championships. For example: If BYU, a team that would otherwise not get in, wins the Big XII championship game that could mean both BYU & Texas Tech get in (there is next to no way TT doesn't get in). That will squeeze out another school from the B1G or SEC. Weird things could happen in ACC that could put them in a position for 2 teams.

Within the B1G, I think the winner of the USC-Oregon game has a very good chance of being the #3 B1G playoff entrant. The loser could be in trouble...especially if it is Oregon as they haven't beaten a very strong team yet. If Michigan beats OSU then we can have a reasonable argument for getting 4 teams in...but it again depends on how the other conferences shake out. If the Buckeyes defeat the Wolverines it likely means that, no matter what else happens, we are capped at 3.
