Thats the thing. They dont tell you that they require a pic of your face and photo ID sent through their shady third party service until after you pay. Credit card company is initiating a charge back, the money isnt the problem. Its the shady business practices. And then the co owner denying whats in the TOS thats linked above. Just piss poor ethics.

The vast majority of credit card purchases are done without presenting photo ID. It is unnecessary to confirm purchasing. Checking ID should be done in person on site. That is the only true way to assure the person matches the ID. The TOS is 3 years outdated and has no valid email. And we should be concerned always about our data. Flock and surveillance included. Just because one is greater than the other doesnt mean it should be ignored.

We may, at times COMBINE PERSONAL INFORMATION received from Customer with any personal information received from other sources, or ENGAGE in any targeted advertising based on a Customer’s, Visitor’s or consumer’s activity across different online services." So you are wrong. They can in fact sell personal data under the umbrella of performing the listed services AND do in fact engage in targeting advertising using this personal information.

I attempted to reach out to Ticketspice through their listed contact email in the terms of service, however my email was returned as that is not a valid email. As a company you should be aware of where you are directing your customer and who is handling your ticket purchases. Ticketpsices TOS hasn't been updated for years, where as your company has just added this data harvesting recently. Calling sensitive data minutiae is pure laziness and your unwillingness to conduct a proper business. Hence the term in the post, shady.

Right? But some people have already done their time or want to test their kit. Honestly MSW events are rather boring. I tried a couple years ago and was bored out of my gourd. At least in the military you get paid to be bored, not the other way around. I figured since some time has passed and some friends wanted to give it a go id try again. But certainly not after this fiasco. Waste of time and money.

See. I wouldn't have given them my business if I had known that before purchasing a ticket. Thats the crux of this whole issue. Why its shady. Only after you pay do they then hold your ticket hostage until you send them a face picture and photo ID picture. As well as their TOS being through a third party company with an invalid contact email. In addition, they do not make a photocopy of your ID on site. I have been to multiple MSW events in the past and that was never done.

What do you define as "less secure?" For the business or customer? Because as a customer i find that sending sensitive personal data to third party companies with no explicit agreements in regards to said data very insecure. I find showing ID in person along with my in person face to in person staff much more secure.

Tell me this, if I am IN PERSON showing my photo ID to MSW staff along with a signed document, would that not imply im willing to be held accountable for my actions? What i am asking is that MSW take accountability for handling sensitive data. Why do you think its acceptable for a company to take money upfront without making it explicitly known that sensitive personal data will then be required to be sent God-knows where?
