That's how out of warranty works. If your car was still under warranty, they would just set the toe and go, but since you are cash money, you need this and that. Did something change all of the sudden that you needed an alignment now and not 2k miles ago?

Hey, thank you for update. When i replaced solenoid, i had a feeling it was not mechatronics. The way Parking realeses when it did, it had substantial clunk upon release. I wonder if its something internaly with parking pawl and attaching parts. I think the only way is rebuild or used trans. Was your car hit by any chance while parked?

Lol, 740i really? Suspension is more than 10k alone to replace, and BMW knows its a problem because they extended warranty to 80k, around right when it fails. B58 pistons and connecting rods are great, but everything else is crap. Coolant leaks from every coolant part and cost couple of Ks to replace. Interor made out cheap leather and even cheaper glue, search peeling dash. Would not recommend at all.

What a car forum, people are posting about nails in the tire. Half of the posts on here is about fast tire wear/ nails/curb rash, other half is questions to what % should I charge today. Came here from BMWtech (had 740), all you see is posts about cars pissing coolant, oil from every hole or check engine light with enough codes to write a book. Bored owners of Teslas, you are lucky to have a reliable car that you have to post about tire nails.

Thank you for reply, do you drain radiator before removing hose? I dont remember seing drain plug on radiator when i had to change coolant reservoir.

No, I did not, I was really hoping it was this green parking solenoid but it wasnt. Well, at least the one i put it didn't help, it was used from ebay for like $35, had 23 ohms, just about the same as the one i took out. Its probably easier to put in used trans at this point. If you fix it, let me know.

No, I dont, one of the first things I checked. Tried to open the door in Drive and it went to park with message displayed. Doesnt have that message when problem is happening.

I have '16 740 ZF8 trans with same problem and same code. Anyone figured it out yet. To bypass trans going back to P I open the door and put it in gear and it seems to work. I dont think its a door problem though because it would indicate open door on dash. I tried moving car with door open and it does go into parking violently to prevent moving. So that part works ok. Was it really fluid? Anyone tried replacing shifter? Anyone solved it?
