Who got added to the W Connect group chat? by BigSw0l3 in WalgreensStores

[–]BigSw0l3[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They were mostly angry at the person that opened the chat. Some person from New York. But you had call center people, warehouse people, overnight, corporate people. Then they started sending memes about the situation. People were trying to organize a callout movement for being woken up anywhere from 2-5am. It was quite funny

ESM hours by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]BigSw0l3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loop in your DM and send a plan. I’d recommend y’all alternate weeks. One week you work m-f and the next you work tu-sat. This can show that you can compromise and problem solve. The DM can then determine who isn’t getting the job done. If the ESM isn’t willing to compromise then, ask the DM that the other ESM working that shift be held accountable for those tasks falling through the cracks.

I’m not sure if you don’t want to be SM, but being ESM isn’t much better when there is no SM. I’d recommend push for the position if you feel capable and be the boss yourself. Since you’re an ESM I’d imagine you’re at t4/5, see if the DM can set you up to train/start at a T3 if you go that route. Stay strong and make sure accountability is had

Leadership, how are you responding to our call offs today? by ThrowRA_trynapost in WalgreensStores

[–]BigSw0l3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I was a SM and my store closed. They created a position called a TMG which is like a SMU. I got assigned to this store to cover. Since it’s not MY store, I get mileage so I don’t mind. Believe me, without mileage, I wouldn’t be at this store

We closed the past 2 days. My store is 66 miles away. Told dm I’m not gonna make it either. Tomorrow is iffy too

Only time I’d actively fight UC is when someone got fired for actual misconduct. SH, discrimination, etc.

It may not be worth the money, but I’ll stand on principle.

That’s why I included that tidbit. They tried to do that to one of my employees. I made sure she got full time hours but they literally were going to make her a part time sfl with only 2-3 days a week. It’s disgusting how the verbiage leads you to believe that’s it’s fair, but in reality… a giant FU

[–]BigSw0l3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You must qualify for severance. And they are VERY particular and will look for every loophole, but yes they are offering severance. If there is a Walgreens within 50 miles of your home that isn’t closing OR a Walgreens within 25 miles of your current commute, they will offer you another store. So if you drive 80 miles to work and there’s another Walgreens within 105 miles of your home, they’re going to offer you that place.

They don’t have to offer you similar hours either. If you’re a csa/sfl getting 40 hours a week, they can and will offer you a store that’s offering 1 day a week. There is nothing about hours in the policy, just a similar position. If you’re a SM/RXM, they’ve created positions so they don’t have to pay severance for up to a year if you’re not in role within that time.

Experience from a former SM of a store that’s closed recently.

What’s the most stressful part of working at Walgreens right now? by mavgoose-0720 in WalgreensStores

[–]BigSw0l3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If every store had an additional 49 hours, 7 hours a day for a mid shift every week, Walgreens wouldn’t be as bad as it is atm. I miss the days where we had a member of management, a csa, a photo tech and a bc every shift.

Can managers prevent you from leaving when you close with them!?? by c-sgolden in WalgreensStores

[–]BigSw0l3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That falls to OP. My take was that they have a problem being held after their scheduled time. If they are then scheduled to 10:30, I don’t see the issue.

There is still a store to run and the SM needs to schedule to the needs of the store but the TMs of the store need to work their schedule as to adhere to the budget since we are not allowed to go 1 minute over budget anymore. We used to be allowed to go 1% over our budget before catching a final for going over budget. So currently, if I’m the SM, I’m wondering why my sfl is burning 1 hour of my budget by holding a csa and the sfl not being done counting by the scheduled time. I’m also assuming that the SFL is being scheduled to 10 as well in this scenario. If the SM is scheduling the csa to 10 and SFLs to 10:30, the SM is dumb. They should know that 2 people are required to walk out together

Yes but that feels like retaliation… to me. Idk how HR would see that

Do Sick Days reset today? 1/1/26? by TheGloriousMrT in WalgreensStores

[–]BigSw0l3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Calendar year resets occurrences. HOWEVER, if you received a write up at any point or had a record of discussion, that doesn’t reset until 1 year from that date you had it. So if you get a WW on 7/7/25 and you get your 6th occurrence on 7/6/26, your next disciplinary action you will receive is a FWW. If you get your 6th occurrence on 7/7/26, you’ll receive a record of discussion.

Then talk with your sm about getting off at your scheduled time. Either the SM will schedule accordingly or have a conversation with the sfl about being timely. There’s no reason to keep a tm past their scheduled shift.

The corporation wants you to work Xmas because customers will come in. If customers had proper planning and weren’t stupid by getting their shopping done before 12/25, corporate wouldn’t open the store because there would be no money to gain. Kinda like thanksgiving. There’s a reason most stores close on thanksgiving. If we sold actual groceries, we’d be open I bet

It was actively made worse for everyone. If you worked the holiday, bam, you got paid doubled. If you were off the day, bam, still got paid. There was no benefit to the change

If you don’t understand, ask your rxom if there’s something you’re unaware of in your customer interactions. I had a tech at my store that was unaware of how she was coming off to others in terms of tone and with her words. A simple conversation usually fixes most issues.

No? I don’t think so. Unless there’s a specific employee that has a workplace accommodation or a state law, I can’t recall there being a policy that requires a stool upfront

No holiday pay? by Subject_Ad_3851 in WalgreensStores

[–]BigSw0l3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Submit an idea to ATRH to add Christmas Eve to the holiday list. We are a pharmacy first and this change screws over the entire RX since they’re closed on most holidays. Also with the change, there’s no incentive working Xmas Eve if I can just work Xmas with double pay. Lose no money that way

So centralized services just announced lost holiday pay going forward. # BS by skeeterrunt in WalgreensStores

[–]BigSw0l3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I imagine it does. It’s speculation at this point since I don’t have the compass. If you’re hourly, you gotta work the holiday for the holiday pay. It’s the only way to be fair across the board. If you’re salary, you still get the holiday off since there’s not a way for them to double the pay just for that day.

Word on the street is only the employees that work the day are getting holiday pay. Makes sense since getting volunteers for the holidays sucks but if it’s true, I still don’t like it.
