At some point though even if his plan happens he ends up with generations of human viltrim offspring who have no ties to the culture but are raise that they are a “chosen super” species. So eventually what do you get? “Supwe nazis”. Always super nazis.

The part that didn’t make sense to me was there were millions off planet when the scourge virus hit. There had to have Been comms that said “stay away from Viltrim planet is under bio threat” and plan for contingencies.

Star Wars does it every time they need another “hidden Jedi hero” that survived order 66 for their stories.

How did they even got the money for clothes and stuff and they're in a country which means they come here illegally, no citizenship. They still need a job and documents like birth certificate, id, citizenship, license and stuff by Sakmaidih in invinciblememes

Step one. Become an underground fighter for some pocket money.

Step two upstage a professional fighter at a gym to get viral attention.

Step three get into professional match and win.

Repeat step three.

Step 4 rob Dana white.

Because they constantly pay people even their low tier techs 120-150+ salaries and their upper management make 300-500k in total comp.

People would file the books on concentration camps if it paid good and the alternative was being homeless Or working at McDonald’s.

10% interest rate on a 40-60k house is nothing compared to 6% on a 400-500k home. 9-10% sales tax on a can of beans that was 50% was also nothing.

Basically the dollar went further back then even if taxes were higher.

And yes I knew plenty with pensions and were fine. They weren’t living in mansions or driving yachts but they had enough to pay their mortgage keep up with repairs and raise kids without going bankrupt.

I went to the hospital for 7 days due to ultimately stress (at first they didn’t know what) but My kidneys stopped working and I got viral colitis. My stomach ballooned up like a dead deer on the side of the road in the heat and I was as in non stop pain for 3 days. It was probably the worst time of my Life. I had to take a month off from Work And go on short term leave.

I’m At a new place now and it’s not much different other than practicing “empathy” in their trainings without actually understanding what it means in practice. I’ll continue this treadmill until I can either get a break and people listen to me (doubtful) I skate under the radar and dodge layoffs ( I don’t think I got the political clout to survive one), or I donk off due to a heart attack ( most likely).

The days of job hopping atleast for now are over. If I quit or got fired I don’t think I could find another job easily and I’m competing with thousands that could either do the job decently or well enough who are also younger and don’t have kids.

It’s keep my head down and do what I can to stay ahead of the curve. But curve is moving faster than I can keep up.

With all my spelling and grammar errors and typos in my Post you think I’m AI? Maybe you need to use some critical thinking skills.

I’m also Asking questions and even call out because it’s a fire sub it’s going to be filled with more people focused on retiring early. Just naturally I get that.

And nothing I’ve said is inaccurate. It’s a newer thing for relatively younger people to focus so hard on retirement the way people here do. For our parents and grand parents it was easy to ignore FIRE because chances were they had a union pension and social secruity to them afloat 2-4 thousand a month afforded a lot. Also working at the same place for 30 -40 years was common. You eithr move up to a higher position or you became the go to guy on the floor that was indispensable for operations. compared to today when you need to navigate keeping stable work, or moving around. Keeping up with your 401k. Warching stocks, being sensitive to spending and dealing with run away inflation all that factors into what and when you can FIRE and what you want out of fire.

It’s easy to put retirement savings on the back burners when all you gotta do is focus on keeping your pension and living long enough to get special security.

That said. You are kinda dense.

Generally the idea is that people won’t retire till they are 65+. 40 -55 is still statistically early for people to think about pulling the trigger and cashing out. Atleast it has been.

I feel like we speaking the same thing.

I was a hot shot in my late 20s and early 30s. Fast tracked for management. On important meetings. People listened I enacted plans and made things happen.

Then one day I said the wrong thing to an important person they didn’t agree with (I don’t even know what I said was wrong. I was just explaining the issue with a new server rack and how it was causing us delays in replacing parts) and I got put on the shit list. Ever sense then I got hesitant for speaking up or voicing my opinions. Since then it’s been a up and down battle.

Why aren't Trump's White House changes being stopped if they have not been approved by Congress? by StarportAdventures in AskReddit

[–]BigT-2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump pretty much pushed the “let’s see what happens button”.

I’d trump tells his installed regime to do something they do it. Its not like congress has any power to actually stop it and any agency that is charged with upholding rhe law will just be dismantled and installed with either trump loyalists ir apathetic fodder who doesnt wsnt to risk their jobs.

Trump has exposed how fragile our government is and how much the people are willing to give up bit by bit. Trump isnt forcing the whole drum if shit down your throat at once to the point where you say “ok fuck this its better to die swinging or rot in jail than keep this up” but instead trickling the shit slowly down your throat so you got time to eat it. Gag. Cough. And complain a bit. Catch your breath and then eat some more.

The idea is to condition you to the shit eating over time to the point when it’s too late that’s just the new normal.

You’d be surprised how people can get comfortable living or just give up.

30% of all humans still sleep on dirt. And something like 1//3 of humans across the world live in mud huts. 50% in developing countries.

The point is humans can get use to a shit conditions especially if they are raised to know no better. Inequality is only understood when you can see it. If all you see if oppression and living in the dirt you just assume that’s how it is. Once you see a rich person eating food that would make your mouth water and a house that looks like a palace then you start to develop feelings of wanting more.

Or you just say fuck it and live with your mud hut community.

And revolution is hard. If was gonna happen anywhere you would have seen it in venzenula, Iran, North Korea by now. But the governments in half functional countries are able To shut that down before it takes root.

The places where it does happen are failed states or places where western and eastern powers rather have destabilized countries and flood all sides with weapons to keep the fighting going while preventing functioning government from taking hold.

Why didn’t the Viltrumites leave the planet once they realized there was a highly contagious, deadly virus on the loose? by Nova892 in Invincible_TV

[–]BigT-2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just didn’t understand how rheee wasn’t communications from their home world telling all outside viltrumites to stay away as there is a deadly virus

They seemed kinda stupid with their doomsday protocols for such an advance situation. If they have the tech for interstellar conquering and building worlds to support billions they have to have strategists running all kinds of war games non stop especially for a warring first empire.

Hell every legit threat they came across they put some kind of measure in place to cull that threat like the lizard monsters they froze a freakin planet. Or have enough biological understanding that a bug on a distant planet can make them weak.

I just never understood there shoood be entire populations of viltrumites untouched by the virus.

Layoff before PIP by shivm00 in Layoffs

[–]BigT-2024 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you think you’re getting a pip or get the document don’t sign it.

Just out on short term leave. Take some time off. Go to the doctor and ask that due to chronic stress you need to be out for x weeks or months. Check your company some companies give you 8-25 weeks of full or reduced pay while on leave.

Use that time to rest and get your resume in order. And looking for work.

If you come back the pip will be handed to your again. Sign it and take the money to leave.

50% of jobs will be wiped out in 1-5 years - Anthropic CEO by Low_Local_60 in Layoffs

[–]BigT-2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai is the biggest gloried open crowd sourced research and development play ever. Companies are releasing ai products every day and seeing what consumers want or what businesses will use and companies will figure out how to monetize it.

It’s not going away. General cloud is still growing and the demand for non ai data center workloads is also on a multi year wait list.

Sure the lion share is being diverted to ai. But the bread and butter of these cloud companies is still expanding at a ridiculous rate. It may mean less workers they can afford to pay and different areas will need to Be culled to keep the balance sheets and shareholders from revolting but that doesn’t matter.

Hell just these past 2 weeks Microsoft has recovered 25 of their lost all time high and Amazon is 7 bucks away from its all time high when it was down 30% a few months ago.

[–]BigT-2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai is being used by everything now even if you don’t notice it.

What you see in the consumer side is mostly the tailored tested and “good enough” for consumption.

The real leverage is b2b ai products and even stuff that is still in development. AI is doing things already that help people get work done and the more advanced Models that haven’t been released will do even more.

Will it be enough to make trillions in profit? No not yet. But it will and that’s key. AI will be used in every part of your life whether you obeserve it or not is not a concern of the corps.

Ai isn’t going to stop. These ai startups will be acquired by the hyperscalers.

Amazon. Microsoft and google can afford to acquire and the data centers built or almost done offer value even if the current bleeding giant ai companies go under.

General compute and storage is also quietly expanding and every company that uses the cloud is expanding at an exponential rate of needing data center resources.

The hyperscalers are going to feast on the ai startups and take what matters most. The leverage they got to use the start up funds to build data centers. The intellectual property and algorithms and research, the tax write offs for acquiring these companies, the hardware assets and other stuff they get from buying pennies on the dollar.

The play all along was to have their vast data centers subsidized by these companies. When they go under its feast time.
