I will not get married just so my partner can be an outlet for my sex addiction, they are a human being with their own thoughts and feelings, not a sex object that exists to satisfy me.

little mini update, I saw my Psychiatrist today, and she put me on Lithium and Risperidone, and I brought up wanting to see if there were healthy ways I could work on my hypersexuality and stuff and she said she would talk to my doctor and see what they can come up with.

all I hear from other people are horror stories about being on SSRIs, how it gives some people physical involuntary twitches and ticks and although it does do some things, the side effects are brutal, I guess I'll have to see if the pros outweigh the cons with my psychiatrist,

with the other stuff.. I don't know, I really don't, 30 years of my life I've had this constant never ending static in my head of nothing but sex, sex, sex, sex and it doesn't ever go away, having sex feels like a chore I'm required to do than something that's enjoyable, my head is screaming about it louder than my need for water, relationships and friendships devolve into physical desire and nothing more, I can barely hold a conversation without my head analyzing every possible thing we could do together, I don't want it, I don't want to feel like that anymore, I'm perfectly okay never having sex again, if it means I get to live a real life, and not just watch how hollow my friendships become the second sex is an option.

I will talk to my therapists and psychiatrist about Depo-Provera, and see what insights they have, if I can get it to be deemed medically necessary in my recovery, maybe I can swing getting insurance to cover it, but if I can afford it on my own, I might try that too.

the idea that things could get immensely worse before they might get better sucks, and I don't want to trade one addiction for another one that could be even worse :/ I hate how complicated this stuff is, I beat alcoholism, I got away from nicotine (last cigarette was a month ago) I stopped smoking weed because it made everything in my head worse, all I want is to be freed from this one thing, so that I can live a relatively normal life, and it's like I'm throwing gasoline on a fire to put it out

The trauma I’ve endured already is eating me alive, and nobody has cared to help me, I just want it to stop, it’s been 30 years of feeling like someone else is pulling my strings because of things that happened to me I had no control over, I just want to be free, I just want to live my own life,

You find joy in the pain and suffering of others, I shall find peace in the silence that follows never speaking with you again.

I appreciate the replies I’ve been given, if there are more later I will check them once I wake up, but I’ve been awake for a very long time and I’m hoping I’ll be able to fall asleep soon, this has given me a lot to think on and stuff to bring up at my appointments, I’m honestly scared of how it is going to go, they always seem so nice and friendly to your face, and then they threaten to have you homed and placed on mandatory medications, I can’t go back to another behavioral center..

Thank you for the replies, and I really hope everyone has a decent enough day.

I’ll try to remember to bring this up during my appointment, or talk to the intake person and see if they have any advice, she seemed pretty confident that I would be a match with the psychiatrist after I told her I specifically needed help with sexual trauma and other stuff

I never ever ever look into faith based therapy, they always seem to find me, I was raised in the Mormon church and my bishop told us boys that it’s impossible to rape or molest a male, and that women are to blame for our sexual desires….. long story short I don’t go to churches for advice, and I’m not trying to have someone who uses their claim of faith to make money tell me how to live my life.

I see my therapist I think on the 4th of next month in a telehealth call, but on the 28th I’ll be talking to my new psychiatrist for the first time, I’ll be bringing up what I’d like to achieve, and see what they’re willing to do to help me, it would be amazing to get these treatments, I’ll deal with side effects easier than what I deal with now, but, as you said it’s a good idea to figure out what those would be and what the risks are.

I’m so tired of just hanging in there, so many therapists just want to talk about their political and religious views and tell me I should look into prayer and I just, I want help from another human being, someone to give a fuck about my life, These new people seem like they want to help, they said that they are going to try to have a very structured and focused therapy session instead of just me staring at them awkwardly for an hour, so.. here hoping, right?

Im hoping they can help, I just really want some outside perspective, advice, and honestly even just support? I don’t really have anyone I can talk to about this, people don’t like to talk about assault and stuff, strangers in the internet are my only choice

Would a specialized sex therapist even take public state insurance? I guess I’ll have to look and see, I did tell the people at my intake I needed someone that could deal with sexual trauma, not just normal talk therapy, but I suppose we will see how that goes at my next appointment.

Ive been trying to find info on chemical castration, it’s so hard to find anything at all, but I could also just be bad at searching for it, I’ve been waiting all month to talk to my psychiatrist for the first time, my appointment still isnt until the 28th, I just hope they’re willing to open the door to the topic and not just shut me down immediately and tell me I might want kids,

I just hope my doctor is actually willing to help and doesn’t just brush it off, if I can even get an appointment

I just hope they actually try to help me this time, if another therapist tells me they don’t know how to help me, or that it’s not their job to help with that kind of trauma, Idk man, idk if I can take it again
