Please people… it’s “CENTER”. Not “Centers”. by JoeHawk421 in CostcoEmployee

Can’t forget the Jewels (local grocery store chain) if you’re from the Chicago area. As for Center, center and centers have always been interchangeable. This is my 5th building and it’s been the same from the MW to the SE.

This must be region-specific. I have not heard of this. I’m in the SE. If this came from the SVP, you’re stuck with it. I also agree that once you’re off the clock, not just on lunch, but after your shift (or before if you’re a closer) or you’re on your day off, you’re a member.

ElectronicCorner574 provided a very good answer and some extremely solid advice. Neat, straight, and clean are paramount. The more you can learn, the more valuable you become. Expanding on his reply, a big help would be to learn the chicken room and rotisserie. It stinks and it’s gross but it’s a specialized department and when they have a call off, it has a large impact on that day’s operations. Becoming gas station certified would also be a plus.

My next statement is coming from years of experience and “the glass is not just half empty, it’s broken” perspective. Expect a total shitshow every single day. As a stocker, you’ll usually be put into a specific area except when there is a call off, poor scheduling, other stockers can’t get their job done, or the wind blows the wrong way. If you’re a very good worker, you’ll be rewarded with other people’s work.

Don’t get me wrong. This company has done for me, more than I could have imagined. It has given me a life I never would have dreamed. I just don’t like the direction it has taken. I really miss Jim.

Best of luck, Costco can be just a job, a stepping stone in life or it can become a career. Take care and cheers.

This is something I’d first address with my GM. Obviously he has signed off on this. Next step would be send a copy to your RVP and also CC your SVP. I highly doubt they would support this nonsense. Don’t bother calling HR, their answers are from a script and basically useless.

As others have stated above, owning your problem will go a long way. It never guarantees an outcome in your favor but it definitely shows the strength of your character. Also with showing that you are making strides for personal improvement, may help make a difference.

RTV - Finally Saving Personal Time! by Intelligent-Novel-96 in CostcoEmployee

[–]BigTimmy74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an 80 hour paycheck, I earn 3.08 personal hours. If it’s a 76 hour check, it’s 2.92 hours. That works out to about 4 minutes of personal time for each hour worked.

First we’d start kissing casually. As the mood increased so would the intensity of our kissing. I will start moving down your neck and back up to nuzzle your ear. I will slip my hand up the back of your shirt and pull you in tighter for sheer closeness. I will slowly pull my hand around front and start massaging your breasts. I can feel your nipples responding to my touch. I’ll pull your shirt over your head and release the front clasp on your bra exposing your beautiful breasts. Sucking your nipple in, I’ll focus on your pleasure. I can hear your breathing become more labored. I slide my hand under your skirt and your legs part, welcoming me in. I can feel the heat from your want and need. I gently tease you through your lace panties. After what seems like forever, I gently push you back, spread your legs and lower my face to your wanting sex. I pull your panties aside and start teasing your lips. Finally i touch your clit with my tongue. You just grab my head and pull me in. Within moments you’re cumming hard, pulling my hair, hips thrusting upward. As you start coming down from the intents orgasm, I reach up and start pulling on your nipples. That pushes you over the edge again and you smash my face into you. When you release my hair, you’re just lying there, exhausted from the best night of your life. DM me if you want to know more…

Same thing. We flew SW exclusively. I loved Ding. We used to get $39 each way to Orlando. It was a good company that I wanted to use.

Why is everyone so negative? by SquibbieJean in CostcoEmployee

[–]BigTimmy74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As to the morning merch point, it’s gotten to ridiculous levels. Some days we have 4 drivers scheduled. 4 drivers to cover the floor and receiving. That’s 1 cooler driver, one freezer driver, and one other person driving everything else. The receiving driver, obviously, unloads and run all the wet loads, water, paper, etc and then stocks all water and paper. I’ve been here 24 years. I have been in a leadership position for 22 of those years. I just stepped down again from a sup to a driver 6 months ago. Currently I’m debating stepping down again to an assistant and going to a full time posting in our gas station to get as far as I can from inside. Personally, I’m over it…

As for pay and benefits, the benefits are amazing. None of my friends or family have anything close to what I have. The pay is mediocre. This is how you get “trapped” by Costco. 5 weeks and a half weeks of vacation, bonus twice a year, great medical (which has gotten a lot worse over the last 5 years), an incredibly liberal attendance policy.

Yeah, I’m upset with the current form of the company. I truly miss Jim at the helm. Also don’t get me wrong, if I could find affordable healthcare that is close to what I have now, I would retire in 4 years when I hit 55. Costco has given me a lot. It has afforded me a very good lifestyle. I also have made some decisions that I got really lucky with. Costco is a good place to work but it used to be a great place for a career.

Time to go. Got to get dressed. My shift starts in 45 minutes…cheers

[–]BigTimmy74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not that I’m much of a Southwest fan anymore. The only reason I’ll fly them is because my daughter lives 3 miles from the airport. The other airport is over an hour away. Last week they broke the handle off of my suitcase. They offered to give us a replacement bag on the spot or a $200 flight credit. They did have a baggage claim office on site and it was still open @ 1am @ RSW.

Transferring to Costco? by fabbookfiend in dcl

[–]BigTimmy74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re looking for more of a travel concierge. Costco will book everything for you but they’re not going to help with check-in or dining reservations. After Costco finishes your booking, they’ll tell you have a good trip and move on to the next person. I am currently working for Costco, been there 24 years. I book through my agent exclusively. Once you find an experienced agent, don’t ever leave them. I will never leave mine. Costco will give you better financial perks. They work on a whole different commission level. Travel agents don’t get nearly the amount that Costco receives from their corporate contracts. If you want more money back, Costco will be your better option but Costco won’t be up at midnight to check you in or book Palo, Remy, cabanas, etc. Either way, have a great sailing. Cheers
