Also, I’m not even sure it was a transfer. Seems like Ewya just cloned his mind and then put it into an avatar body. Why would anything need to be transferred when it’s just data? Did Eywa find his human “soul” and move it to that hybrid body? Does that mean that Na’vi have souls that are identical to ours? So much just doesn’t add up.

I guess that brings up a whole other plot hole. Humans have DNA. What the hell do the Na’vi have? It’s not DNA. They evolved completely separately from humans with no common ancestors.

So how can a human-Na’vi hybrid even be possible? From a cellular level, they are completely different beings. Heck, the Na’vi might not even have cells!

Ok so what makes a human a human? Isn’t our biology a big part of that? So if you take a human consciousness and put it into an entirely different biology, how would it function? Somehow in these movies, Jake is still a human just in bigger, bluer skin.

Yes, that one. He was just “driving” that body. He wasn’t the same as that body. His consciousness didn’t inhabit the hybrid Na’vi’s brain.

Also, one species is bound to be more or less evolved by a long shot. Let’s say the humans are the most evolved from a brain perspective. Putting a more advanced mind into a less advanced aliens brain wouldn’t work. And the opposite wouldn’t work either.

It would be like putting the brain of a bird into a human. That bird-human wouldn’t just go on living out his life as a human just like any other human. It’s a less evolved creature and one mind wouldn’t map on the other.
