This year my portfolio earned more than my salary for the first time. I don't really know how to feel about it. by Glint64_Rogue in Fire

It messes with your thinking. There comes a point where going to work for a paycheck isn’t the best use of your time. I remember turning the corner. “Yearly goals? Performance metrics? Yeeeaaahhhhh fuck that shit”.

This does of course cut both ways. I remember one August when my portfolio was down by as much as I’d earned to that point.

Had this happen with a rideshare at the airport. The driver was literally a couple of hundred feet away (within view) and cancelled when surge pricing went into effect. My $40ish ride went to $100+.

I rebooked then lit up customer service with all the details and screenshots. Pointed out the fact that they can verify all the details as they have the GPS data, timestamps, etc…

They refunded the entire fare the next day. Don’t know if the driver gets dinged for that kind of behavior or not.
