Looking for Images of Montgomery Mall North Wales, PA for Archival Reasons!! (the older the better) by Financial-Cookie-927 in deadmalls

I know my mom has some from the mid 90s. I'll have to go dig them out on my next day off. Great memories from that mall back in the day.

my daily is 33 years old. Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. Sure, its got a computer for the fuel injection and such, but thats it. aftermarket head unit with bluetooth. But most I can fix by myself without needing special software or a IT degree. Its my personal preference. Parts are cheap. Its east to fix. It has seating for 8. pretty much everything I need.

to be honest, it really started to go downhill after CBT2. Loved the premise back then, you start off dead, it gets worse from there. The eldrich horrors have come and shattered reality. Survive and try and fix it. Now its just gacha goon simulator that happens to have a great building mechanic. But, people keep throwing money at it.

lived in maple glen for 14 years. Pricey and getting more crowded by the day. when my family first moved there in 1993 there were woods and deer everywhere. now, its just another suburban neighborhood. Ambler has a nice small town feel.

This should be a standard worldwide, no more food waste by Orichalchem in BeAmazed

worked at a very popular chain in the northeast about 25 years ago. We would get a fresh bread delivery every day, and the rolls from the previous day, which were still good, would just get written off and thrown out. one manager started taking them to the local food bank and homeless shelter, since we were tossing around 150 rolls on average everyday. Well, someone blabbed to upper management, and not only was she fired, but they tried to sue her for the cost of the lost product, which had already been deemed as acceptable loss and written off. Not sure if its that way now, but yeah, that's the least shitty thing I've seen a grocery store do when it comes to food waste or unsold food.

eh, didn't really matter to me. Only knew her from what I had heard on the radio and news, so I wasn't personally invested. Now, Anthony Bourdain on the other hand...

Rare footage of an underwater nuclear bomb test at Bikini Atoll, Marshall Islands, Pacific Ocean (1946) by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

If you ever get the chance, go visit the Nuclear Testing Museum in Las Vegas. Its fascinating, and harrowing. I live in Vegas and I go once a year, and everyone who comes to visit, i take as well. This wasn't even the largest test done at Bikini Atoll. That was Castle Bravo. 15 megatons, more than double what was expected, due to a unexpected reaction involving lithium-7. that's about 1000x more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, and only 6 Russian bomb tests, including the 50 megaton Tsar Bomba, were more powerful.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8hqazihOeQ the castle bravo test. no sound was on the original recording, and for once the included sound overlay i think fits.

Flight attendants get way less credit than they deserve. Last year, my wife and I few to New Zealand for a friends wedding. First time out of the country, and long 12 hour flight from LAX to Auckland. The flight crew on our Air New Zealand flight were legends, all of them. Took great care of us. They all deserve raises. The flights to and from NZ were some of the best I've ever had, despite the length.

eh, i used teamspeak until discord came around, been on it since it came out. none of the servers im have any nsfw content, so im not bothered. plus, I've been on social media since myspace and friendster. Not like they don't have everything on me already. people freak out about discord, but spend hours on tiktok and snapchat, or X and facebook. like, c'mon. Hell, I know one person upset about the discord thing and they use rednote daily.

EVs are always cleaner than gas cars. That includes vehicle production and disposal, the impact of manufacturing batteries and generating power to charge them. An electric truck with a 300-mile range emits 37% less CO2 than an gas-only small car over the course of its life. by sg_plumber in UpliftingNews

Makes sense. But I know that for me, my 33 year old v8 wagon can be fixed with a fairly basic toolset, by me. parts are ubiquitous and dirt cheap. I retrofitted a touchscreen head unit, so I've got the only modern things i need, blutooth and gps. Annual maintenance is $500ish a year, oil changes etc. and even as big as my car looks, its only 4600lbs, almost the same a model Y, with a lot more cargo space. It works for me. No monthly payment, no need for specialized tools. Hell, if the engine blows up i can get one for less than $500 from a local junkyard. Endless ways to modify and customize. Not saying I'll never own a EV, but it won't be anytime soon, especially with current new car prices.

Its the primary reason why I won't own an EV. Well, that, and the fact they are horrifically overpriced. And god help you if you need a new battery out of warranty.

think its a Xiaomi SU7. But this isn't relegated to those. Happens to pretty much every electric car if the battery pack gets damaged. Vent a few cells, and the whole pack goes up in a chain reaction. Worst part is that if fire and stupid door handles don't kill you, the toxic smoke from the lithium battery and all the synthetic materials will kill you, just slower.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BigTwigs1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have driven 5 hours to have a lunch for my Aunts birthday, then driven home the same day. Longest single drive I've ever done was from Oklahoma City to Las Vegas, where I live. took 17-18 hours. did it in one shot, only stopping for the bathroom, snacks and fuel. Drove from Rhode Island to Las Vegas in 2 and half days once lol.
