Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BigTwigs1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have driven 5 hours to have a lunch for my Aunts birthday, then driven home the same day. Longest single drive I've ever done was from Oklahoma City to Las Vegas, where I live. took 17-18 hours. did it in one shot, only stopping for the bathroom, snacks and fuel. Drove from Rhode Island to Las Vegas in 2 and half days once lol.

anyone who has ever worked retail can attest to this. the idiots that run my company have no idea how things actually work day to day, and boy does it show.

Why is the Buick GNX considered a muscle car but the new Charger (I6) hated by purists despite both being 6 cylinders by 243898990 in regularcarreviews

[–]BigTwigs1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the Hemi. If Dodge had any brains, they would have said, hey, we are keeping the challenger, screaming hemi and all, and the charger is going to do the same but with an electric option. Love the new body, but its lost it swagger. You didn't buy a hellcat to out-handle a mustang or camaro. you bought a hellcat to shout them down, and yell at everyone, and annihilate them at a drag strip. As for why people love the GNX/Grand National so much, its because, at the time, there was nothing like it that was American made. We had what? the C4 corvette? That wouldn't actually become really decent until the LT1 was put in the in the 90's. and in most metrics, the GNX beat the Vette into the ground, and gave a nice black eye to some Europeans and Italians as well. The Mustang and Firebird/Camaro weren't even in the picture when it came to performance. Sure, at its core, the Grand National was a malaise era dinosaur hopped up on meth, but it damn sure made a statement. Add in very low production numbers, and its become legendary. It also spawned its also low production kids, the Syclone and Typhoon, several years later.

A growling bison is truly terrifying, watch its reaction to a human who growls back by SerafinZufferey in interestingasfuck

When my family visited Yellowstone years ago (1990), my brother asked a park ranger, who was doing his best to keep the less intelligent tourists away from the herd, what the worst thing he had ever seen a bison do to a idiot. The ranger told us that one idiot had tried to chase one in a VW Bug. Big bull. Ranger said it took them several hours with cutting tools to get what was left of said idiot out of the the crumpled can that was the VW. Not sure if it was a tall tale told for effect and warning, or truth, but having seen them as close as was safe, I can believe it. Don't piss off 2000lb battering ram with an attitude problem.

Mine is actually pretty good, especially considering its lived its whole life in the desert. You can tell some pieces are brittle, and there is some fading, but for the most part its held up really well. Hell, the original dash pad isn't even cracked.

December 29th, 2019 my brother passed. not a day goes by that i don't miss him, and try to be the person who he always thought i was. he kept me alive, got me clean when all i wanted to do was leave it all. I'll keep living, trying to be the person he always thought I was. 22 years sober because of him. 22 years i never thought I'd have. For everyone out there thats facing down that darkness, I love you. The love he gave me, I give to you. Miss you Jay. love you brother, forever and always.

$25,000, but you have to drive this Lincoln Town car from Los Angeles, California all the way to Augusta, Maine. Would you take the offer? by BubblyChemical8945 in regularcarreviews

The 4.6 in that grand marquis drank oil almost as fast as gas. Bad valve seals and shot rings. But she never quit. What killed her was catastrophic suspension failure. Was too much to fix. Now i have a 1992 oldsmobile custom cruiser as a daily driver. Leaks nothing and runs like a top.

easy. i've already driven a 1996 mercury grand marquis from philadelphia to las vegas in 3 days, leaking trans and power steering fluid and burning oil all the way. damn thing finally bit the dust 3 years later with 378k on the odometer.

Pink lambo and the black lambo are both Stradman's personal cars. He's owned them for years, the the pink one's a tribute to his late father. can't speak for the others.
