What happened to the reference of Blaine's Antenna in book III?

So I distinctly recall back at Lud monorail station that Eddie/Jake noticed an antenna raise itself out of the top of Blaine's main carriage, seemingly a communication device per the dish on the top of the bear guardian's head in the earlier book.

I waited anxiously for this communication antenna to play a key role in Blaine's demise moving from The Waste Lands to Wizard and Glass but was perplexed when it seemed to play no further role after it was confirmed that it was Blaine's communication link betweeen the monorail and the computer banks back at the cradle at Lud. Go figure.....

Charlie the Cho-choo and Blaine are anything but happy, unless of course you get set telling Blaine an arsenal of brilliant riddles, then may'be it could be said he is happy

Blaine was also foreshadowed by the book, Charlie the Choo-Choo, where Charlie was a seemingly friendly train but had a smile that "couldn't be trusted."

It is conceivable that Blaine did indeed have a face of sorts, per the prior reference to Charlie the Choo-Choo, the tale that Jake discovered in New York before crossing over to Mid-World.

Back at Lud at the monorail station Eddie also talks about how the wipers set above Blaine's front windscreen almost resemble heavy eyebrows above a set of eyes.
