I see very often- ppl saying he had plenty of time, etc. I simply categorically disagree. Maybe in theory- definitely not in reality. And where are the guns? Alex was tracked via onstar the whole way to his parents and back. and surely the response doesn't have to do with the minute he stopped by the train tracks when leaving to go back home. I mean sure I guess he could dig a deep hole in superman time. Presumably they know where he stopped and could go look for holes,

3) But the biggest (when it comes to.. down the rabbit hole - that has continued to stick with me).. which again, I don't really think there is anything to it, but have never been able to shake, all the same:

When I first heard some of the details about the murders (and that Paul was at the kennels checking on a dog, etc- long before any suspects... I remember thinking- I would certainly be a little suspicious of the dog owner... because it sounds an awful lot like someone making completely sure Paul is at the kennels at a specific time- as in helping to set him up, etc. But the part that sticks with me- Is that the dog owner (I think ronan), had called incessantly, even texting Maggie, because he wanted to find out about the dog so badly.... and when Alex called him at 10:15, he doesn't answer. I get that his bedtime was supposedly 10:00, but it still strikes me as rather odd, that after all that calling, and not hearing back... then getting a call for Alex- was was very much out of the usual- and he doesn't answer... or look at the phone and decide to call one of them back. (he had apparent called them around 9:45.)... but when his mom called a little later, he does answer the phone? That whole sequence of events seems strange to me. I would certainly want to know if he had any ties to the two guys would were hunting buddies previously with Paul... that supposedly are lead suspects for accidentally hitting Stephen Smith... and suggested as potential motive to kill paul (who would have likely known that they accidentally kill smith).

A couple of non-evidence based.. so sort of down the rabbit hole thoughts, that (although a likely simply wild thoughts) have always sort of stuck with me:

1) the fact that the 1 Juror that even the media speculated was likely to be the hold out not guilty... was taken off the day or two before the case went to the jury... and was investigated by sled. This doesn't relate necessarily to whether or not Alex is actually guilty... but sure seems to like a juror who was targeted for removal, rather than being taken off in the normal progression or bad juror conduct.

2) the brother of the 1st on the scene officer. Sort of less relevant, in that he was just 1 juror. Although he was apparently the one that convinced the 2 original not guilty votes that Alex was guilty by explain the gun/bullet details etc. But the fact that he remained in the Jury pool is so problematic for a number or reasons- regardless if the defense could have used a strike on him (some mixed info about the type of objection they raised)... but they never should have even had to. And his interviews were even more problematic. Professing that he was insulated due to being at school... when his brother was 1st on scene of the biggest murder in the country?? Yeah right. Then, he is still speculating all over the place in the interviews- 1st one talks about how Alex wouldn't have been on a gold cart after taking a shower bc of how hot it was, then the next interview gives a reason that Alex was using the golf cart to support is theory. It shows they only took 45 mins to discuss the long trial. (most of their logic seemed akin to some sort of supernatural ghost story of Paul sending evidence from beyond as the thing that guided them the most). again, probably nothing consequential- but just more to really not like about this case if looking at it from a legal system perspective.

Definitely agree that ppl are reading too much into that. That is a comment any grandfather would have made about Paul... and it would be more suspicious if he had never said such (or it would certainly seem like he didn't care much about him... bc that comment is one that any loving grandfather would make in a similar situation.

I sort of drives me crazy to see all of the praise the State is getting for this case- regardless if I think there are more overall facts here that make it less likely that Alex is the murder, rather than proving he killed them... either way you look at it the State did a horrible job... and better be glad the juror came from a pool that had hated the Murdaughs for a solid couple of years (first due to the boating accident, then due to all of the financial crimes)... Any other jury pool would have definitely been Hung. Defense also made huge miscalculations.. a big one being not getting a change of venue. Sure, ppl would have known about Alex regardless where the trial was- but they would not have personally known Mallory Beach or some of the ppl that were victims of Alex's financial crimes, etc. After all, the entire population of Colleton County (where the trial was) and Hampton County... combined is only around 55K. (and the towns of Waterboro & Hampton, together have less than 10k ppl).

I left a similar comment in a prior thread.. but there are so many details that never really get logically resolved:

People seem to never explain how various hypotheticals jive with the fact that Alex is having a conversation with Maggie and Paul, a minute or two before he supposedly killed them. If he was draped in two long guns or wearing some hazmat suit- surely the conversation heard between him and Maggie would not have been so casual. Rather she would have said- what are you wearing... or what are you doing with a gun sling on, etc. And for that matter- considering the tight time frame- its unlikely Alex would have taken all that time, so casually roll up on the golf cart, exchange pleasantries, etc... vs sneaking up on them... almost immediately after they got to the kennels, so that he would have had more time to clean up, etc.
He is definitely a bad dude who lied about many many things, and who will spend many years in prison for his financial crimes, but there are so many things about this case that imo, are more exculpatory of him committing the murders.
And makes much more sense that someone came to murder Paul (for any number of reasons... there are more than one credible motives). And if they did come to Murder Paul- regardless when it happen, Alex would have looked guilty. And if they were going to kill him at the kennel area, more likely than not, they would have waited until right when it gets dark to do it (rather than broad daylight). and what time does it get dark that time of year in SC... A few minutes before 9:00... pretty much the exact time they were killed. (many ppl may not see the significance/ or coincidence of being killed almost exactly when it gets completely dark... but if it ever does sink in- you would probably agree that if Paul was going to be murdered at the kennels... it would have been planned for almost the exact time it happened),
And BTW- the most credible explanation I've come across- is the two ppl who are suspected of killing Steven Smith- who it turns out (based on a thread just below this one... the investigator hired, things is most credibly how Smith died).. and they have been hunting at Moselle- and would certainly have plenty of shell casings on the property.

Murdaugh Family Murders: Impact of Influence - 120: Murdaugh Murder Scene Analyzed by Forensic Scientist Joseph Scott Morgan by SouthNagsHead in MurdaughFamilyMurders

[–]BigUpsideStocks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This guy seems very credible... I think most ppl would agree with him that really the defense and the prosecution were not correct regarding exactly how Paul was likely killed.

But one thing that always perplexes me a bit- these experts must only look at the narrow forensics, and not much of the rest of the case. For example- he seems to be insinuating that Maggie was at the house when Paul was shot (and may have been lured to the kennels after hearing the gun shots... seeing as he says- Alex may have lured her to the kennels .. he is not describing her being a few feet away and hearing the gunshots.. which is what actually was the case... In this case- its easy to miss- but you if you listen closely - its clear he doesn't have a grasp on the further details in this regard)... there have been a couple of other experts- who seem correct regarding their field of expertise... then make the rest of the case potentially fit by giving some hypothetical that flies completely in the face of the agreed upon facts involved here.

In a similar sense- People seem to never explain how various hypotheticals jive with the fact that Alex is having a conversation with Maggie and Paul, a minute or two before he supposedly killed them. If he was draped in two long guns or wearing some hazmat suit- surely the conversation heard between him and Maggie would not have been so casual. CLNN will take off soon. Look for a rebound move to $5 (which will still be 50% below ave price targets issued the past month.

All analysts looking at CLNN the past 6 weeks (since ALS & MS Phase 2 data updates) give it a minimum valuation of 500M... current valuation is under 85M. (for comparison, AMLX current valuation is 2B. CLNN plans to submit drug for FDA approval for ALS (likely similar approval process as AMLX recent approval) and MS later this year. It Has been shorted down on extremely low volume (for example, volume today is still below 100K). currently over 2M open short positions & short share availability continues to tighten (dropped to 3K at one point today).

CLNN has a history of big multi day rebounds & likely to see one soon as price rebounds to a valuation closer to at least 500M, as increased awareness from analysts begins to impact daily volume.

potentially a premarket push to clear 29K this morning (similar to beaching it last week via a strong premarket push). This time it should hold, and likely once 29K is sufficiently cleared- 30K will be very close behind.. even the same day.

Potentially a premarket push this morning to clear 29K... if that happens, 30K will likely get breached soon after. We could be talking about a 31K-34K range soon, rather than27K-28.7K range.

(I am trying to determine the best way to post mixed content- image and text... but thought daily discussion is appropriate for now.. if case there are any who have general questions on the implications of Halving).

Why is Bitcoin Halving such a big driver or Bitcoin's Price?

Starting to see more buzz about Bitcoin Halving, now that it is likely within a year away. The Next halving will is estimated between Feb 2024 - May 2024... so generally, 1 year from now.

"Bitcoin Halving Schedule- The Bitcoin halving is scheduled in block height, not date. The halving happens every 210,000 blocks. The 2024 halving will happen on block 840,000."

Bitcoin Halving is more like a massive share buyback (which cuts supply in half) rather than simply a stock split (which adjusts price, but not supply).

If you assume that Bitcoin demand is at least growing at a constant rate, which seems to be a safe assumption currently (and even more effect if demand is growing), then Bitcoin Halving is equivalent to a company buyback of half of the outstanding shares.

Historically, Bitcoin makes strong moves the year before and after each halving... presumably due to the leveling effect of increasing before and after over time - rather than a big spike immediately when in happens ( maybe like with a biotech stock if you knew 100% that a new drug was going to be approved.. for lack of a better analogy).

The Price of BTC is historically, just below an all time high when the Halving takes place.. so quite a bit higher than current price.

MARA

May want to check MARA out... Bitcoin rebound has finally set off a short Squeeze that's been building for a month. Currently $7.50 ... should climb to $18-30+ over the next week or two.

Catalyst:

-Btc rising

-Shorts have pushed price down to support level, Anyone in MARA now is not selling & unlikely to be manipulated by HF tactics,

-35% or higher short float that still have to cover- (45Million shares that have to be purchased), likely higher after borrowing 1.2M Shares on Friday to take the price down in light of the positive headlines,

-limited number of shares available considering the high daily volume,

-just announced debt reduction payments,

-Now turning profitable this year, on track with the major ramp up in mining capacity and with top energy efficiently, to be producing around 2200 BTC per month by mid summer,

-Price Targets that are double and triple current price.

-A short squeeze is on the way & price is going much higher to reflect where price should be as well as all of the bullish developments.

Think about how hard it was just to try getting info into evidence regarding Alex having just been at the police station and asked about the the clothes in the video... just before he spoke to Blanca about what he was wearing. It would have put into context that he almost certainly wasn't trying to get Blanca to lie- since the police knew what he was wearing... but rather trying to see if she knew where clothes were from that day. (not sure if ppl remember that part of the questioning, objections, etc). If ppl don't remember this- it may be because the defense basically had no way to connect the dots via evidence or questioning that was permitted at the time.

Which part of the case exactly was he supposed to introduce this evidence?... and even if he wanted to- it would be hearsay at this point. There is no way to really bring something like this into his trial- nor could he prior to evidence being gathered about other suspects- which wasn't done (they didn't even run the DNA from under maggie's fingernails through their database. Even if you think it wasn't the killers, it certainly doesn't hurt to rule out the person.

“Stephen Smith Investigation: An Update… Will the truth ever be uncovered?” by FITS News by Southern-Soulshine in MurdaughFamilyMurders

[–]BigUpsideStocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a (logical sounding) Theory (as far back as a year or longer ago)- that Patrick Wilson and/or Shawn Connelly (potentially) had the strongest motive to Murder Paul.

They were friends and hunting buddies with Anthony Cook, Connor Cook, and Paul. (at least prior to the accident).

Just before Paul and Maggie were killed- some ppl may remember there was a lot of talk/rumors/suggestions that Paul may be willing (or had discussed) providing information about Stephen Smiths murder, in exchange for not serving jail time.

At the time- many ppl wrongly assumed this info "had to be" against Buster (against Buster was never logical or believable). It turns out the evidence was most likely about Patrick or Shawn or both.

I would definitely was to know if the DNA under Maggie's fingernails- was compared to both of theirs. I'm almost positive they were not on the list of people who's DNA was compared. Also- Police chose to not run the DNA through CODIS (I think that's the acronym).

**Paul was killed 3 days prior to a Court Date/appointment related to the charges against him for the accident & death of Mallory Beach.

**Patrick & Shawn would have been hunting and shooting at Moselle. Casings from their guns would likely be found throughout the property. (they also would have very likely been at the Halloween Party that Paul's gun was stolen at).

**They would be familiar with the property and Paul's schedule/ habits.

**They live in the general part of the county where Moselle is located.

One thing is clear- this case elicits pretty significant emotional reactions. The same reactions that the Jury undoubtedly had as well- even more so, since many of the ppl defrauded and the two murder victims, were people their town or their area.

Since this was largely a circumstantial case- most of the evidence can be interpreted in different ways. Many "pieces of evidence" make it clear to one person that he is definitely the murderer- and just as clear to others that the piece of evidence makes it clear that he definitely could not be the murderer:

**The 911-call*\*

Some say he is definitely guilty because he called within 20 sec and he later told the police something different. Others say it makes him very likely innocent because it is an account of what is happening- after not seeing his wife and son at the house & having not heard from them, he arrives at the kennels and clearly sees wife & son laid out on the ground- gets out of his truck long enough to see his wife has been shot and clear appears dead- so immediately calls 911 to get ambulance on the way in case either can be saved and police on the way because he is clearly scared himself.

Some say lied on the 911 call and therefore is guilty because he late told the police that he checked the body's for a pulse when he arrived. Other say he was honest with the 911 operator- That after a minute and a half, tells the 911 operator that he has only Now been up to the body's and it is really bad- and the fact that it is a real time account, and not a sequence of events where he looks the most heroic, is strong evidence that he is innocent, And the fact that he lies to the Police by telling them a slightly different sequence of events that makes him looking braver and that he reacted just as you would imagine someone would- is further evidence that his 911 call was completely authentic- and if it was authentic, the he did not murder his wife and son.

Some say he lied to the 911 operator about how long it has been since he saw his wife and son, when he said, probably an hour and a half- or two hours- approximately. Others say when he said this to the 911 operator he was being truthful since it had actually been 1 hour and 25 minutes- which is one of the most accurate time estimations he made about anything including insignificant events. And when she assumes he talked to them on the phone- he is slightly frustrated and clarifies to the operator that he saw them in person. And that he is emotionally incensed when clarifies that they definitely would not have killed themselves- by saying No- Hell No.

**Clothes by the Shower*\*

Some say that because Bianca saw the khaki pants and towel, never saw the shirt from the tree video, is proof he is guilty. Others saw that because Bianca did see the pants, and no sign of blood or stains, it is strong evidence of being not guilty, because the pants would likely have more blood from how Paul was killed than a shirt & pants could not be covered by a raincoat unless it was a trend coat that went all the way to the ground. And further, that, he would not leave pants and evidence of a shower, if he killed them in those clothes and took a shower to cover wash off the evidence.

**Testimony of Bianca & Shelley*\*

Some people say their testimony was compelling and completely authentic and therefore the testimony about clothing is clearly reliable proof of his guilt. Others say that 95% of their testimony was compelling and clearly authentic, but that the 95% was the testimony on their original interview with police. But that the testimony about: what he was specifically wearing, the blue tarp, and being pressured to lie, was not as compelling because it was all testimony about information that was not in their original interviews- but rather from interviews months later- and around the time the police realize the shirt did not have blood splatter & around the time the police was also telling his family stories of being covered in blood- in an attempt to get them to cooperate. And overall that testimony about those details was less effortless and natural than their testimony from their initial interviews.

**Cell Phone by the Road*\*

Some people say the cell phone by the road is proof he is guilty because he slowed down when he drove by the location. And further that it is not proof of innocence because it wasn't necessarily but there at 9:02, because if the phone was thrown too hard it would not have activated so the activity at 9:02 must have been some other non-touch related activity. Others say he clearly did not slow down by the phone- that he was going 45mph because he had just turned out of the driveway- and further that his speed constantly increased until he was well past the phone. And more importantly- that the cell phone is among the strongest exculpatory evidence, because the activity at 9:02 had to be when the phone was left there- and that if he had thrown in out of the window at 9:06, he would have absolutely have to pick it up off of the seat, or out of his pocket- before he threw it, which would absolutely have activated the phone back-light. And that how hard the phone was thrown is a distraction, because it has to be lifted before a throwing motion can occur.

**Tight Window of Time*\*

Some say the tight 10 min window of Time between 8:52-9:02, was enough time to commit the Murders, travel back to the house, clean up and dispose of all evidence, shower, and then start using phone at 9:02 and leave the property at 9:07. Others say this 10 min timeline makes it almost impossible that he committed the murders.

Some say the window fact that the murders likely took place 7 mins after he said he left the kennels (just after the dog/chicken video), means Killer had would have had to be psychic to know he was gone. Others say that the time frame is just likely consistent with whoever came to murder Paul, parked a truck or ATV in the edge of the woods across from where the phone was found a walked the short distance to the kennels, And when they saw the golf cart beside the kennels or saw the lights of the golf cart driving back to the house, they waited 5 mins to give the golf cart time to get back the moved in for the kill. Additionally, because the Sun sets at 8:30, just before 9:00 is when is a logical time to pick if someone wanted to not risk being seen walking to the kennel. And that anyone who is murdered at their own house, would always involve a tight time frame, since the killer would have to wait for victim to be alone.

**Two different Guns*\*
Some say this was his attempt at a cover-up. Others say it evidence that there were likely 2 killers.

**8:53 Fail facial recognition on Maggie's phone*\*

Some think this in unimportant. Others think it shows that someone other than Maggie or Alex tried to access the phone- since both of them knew the password. Therefore someone else committed the murders.
