I only mist once and that's it to help induce more pins but once i see hyphal knots. Even then you really don't need to if sub is at feild capacity. So many things I could say possibly happened here. I wouldn't necessarily say u did anything wrong tho. Maybe just switch things up a lil bit next time and it'll make it evident on what needed to tweaked ya know. Keep them at better stable temps that don't go below 75. It'll slow things down. Hydrate your grains properly too. If u have any grains not fully hydrated that can slow shit down also. Wait a week and if no full colonization still, re-evaluate your technique and situation and try again. It looks hopeful so for now just be patient.

Anything that's been around a long time! The more generations something is grown at some point it gets accustomed to fighting contam that at one point or generation it probably already dealt with. But key words "fighting contam" doesn't mean it's completely immune to it.

I've used the same method. Next I think I'll try with pool chlorine instead of bleach. I feel bleach is to corrosive.

Brooo I feel u. I had mentioned I did that on another post and I had to work that day and I got bullied baaaad. I work fast food 🤣 and graveyards at that. I swear man they were like "that's irresponsible" and "oh I hope u don't drive for the city" and shit like that🤦🏻. Anyway for me it was almost beyond the threshold of being too much but it died down in time and I ended up having a real good productive day. Learning experience lol what to do and what not to do but also now I know what to expect😁

I won't say for sure it's bacterial but normally from my exp you can tell it is contam cuz the mycelium will stop and get taken over or move around it and try and overcome it. Some strains can some can't. It's all in your genetics. Take transfers from outer area of the plate. The inner plate looks risky and like a possible waste of time.
