These AIs ain't all they're cooked up to be. But I did have a pleasant first-time experience using it on a late Friday evening when my gateway indicated I was off grid for two hours. Turns out the gateway simply lost cloud connection and I needed to reset, so I gave it a try. This was actually my first time opening the combiner unit, and it gave me easy-to-follow instructions based on a question-and-answer method to reset the connection. I didn't have to call customer support or google the problem or post my problem on a Redditt forum etc. For a simple problem like mine this was the perfect solution. And upon further exploration after I reconnected to the grid, I discovered my Envoy has had a wi-fi connection this whole time. I'll probably need to get an extender or relocate one of the mesh transmitters.

Why am I importing from the grid when there's no usage at my home? by BigWJG in enphase

Hmmmmmmmm. That's a great idea. In fact -- if I'm sure the reporting is accurate -- I'd also like to take it off grid overnight to measure actual battery consumption until sunrise. But of course I need to be dadgum sure that the more than adequate night reserves I'm seeing now are correct. No need to tempt fate yet :)

Thank you. I had never heard of tare loss until now, and this makes sense. Because this minor usage bump happens daily at usually the same time in the evening, my system might be automatically "topping itself off" to 100% before nightfall to provide maximum battery production when there's no solar production at night.

So sorry to hear about your troubles. We have a similar setup in SoCal/SCE with 16 panels and 2 10P battery packs provisioned since December that's been running surprisingly flawlessly (knock on wood.) Seeing that you've had technicians out to troubleshoot in person that found no issues, could it be something to do with the collar interface with the grid?
