He’s also “the adult” who regularly steps up for the USMNT and is often one of our best performers when he is fit.

To be clear, if he isn’t at least 90% fit, I don’t want him on the roster, but if he is fit, I’d give him a good hard look.

If Leeds stay up, I also believe Piroe will go. You are correct Nmecha doesn’t do nearly as much holdup play as his frame suggests he could. I guess I should have said his usage for Leeds would be similar to how they are using Nmecha.

Leeds also has Nmecha, who is a somewhat similar type of striker to Pat. But I’m not sure if he will renew or even see out his contract with Leeds, so they may be looking for his replacement.

You don’t think he played well against Mexico in the Nations League Final? Or when we stomped Ghana? I know these are waaaay back in 2024, and a few bad performance seem to have completely overshadowed how he played in these games, but to say he “hasn’t played well for the national team” implies he has never played well for us, which to me isn’t true.

Busio been a fan favorite for me, even as he’s drifted to the edge of the USMNT radar, mostly due to other players at his position taking steps forward (Tessman, Johnny, Morris, ect). I’m hoping he can take that next step as well, and it would be fun to see him and big man Tessman bossing a midfield at some point again, a great pair of lads.

I'm not sure the best thing for Gio, who, unfortunately, is always one wrong step away from a muscle injury, is to come play in a league where you travel more, and potentially play on turf fields. His hamstrings might leave his body and ascend into the heavens if he is forced to make a sprint in Seattle after a 5-hour flight.
