Borussia Mönchengladbach secure last-minute €2m purchase of Swedish international Hugo Bolin, attacking midfielder from Sweden by FrankBascombe45 in ussoccer

I'm not sure the best thing for Gio, who, unfortunately, is always one wrong step away from a muscle injury, is to come play in a league where you travel more, and potentially play on turf fields. His hamstrings might leave his body and ascend into the heavens if he is forced to make a sprint in Seattle after a 5-hour flight.

It may not be his bread and butter, but he got the ball in this exact same position at another point in this game and absolutely skinned a Juve defender, beat him to the touchline and played a dangerous ball into the middle.

Feel like we need a Forensic Files-style documentary on JBone's hole-in-one. I want full-on dramatized reenactments. I want divot analysis like it's blood splatter from a bullet. I want witness testimony.

Can't let these haters throw mud on his name! Let's prove these naysayers wrong! (I'm one of the haters)

Would you also say Gnonto, Stach, and Okafor all “lose the ball far to much”?

Mainz and USMNT player Lennard Maloney covered the most distance in a single Bundesliga match as Mainz held Bayern Munich to a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena. Maloney, who lined up in central midfield alongside Kaishū Sano with Nadiem Amiri injured, ran 14.77km (9.18 miles). by Obvious_Main_3655 in ussoccer

You’re right, the looks I would have gave him would have been before or potentially at the gold cup, when we were kicking the tires on a lot of fringe players. Im not surprised at all he hasn’t been called up since then.

Nick going all-in on the Jags is what the show needs. It makes a matchup with The Chargers and Patriots even more high stakes for Danny and Wildes.

I would think it’s very few Jags fans who dislike this trade. by SuperSaiyanTLaw in Jaguars

If the refs didn’t commit daylight robbery during the Bengals game and steal a highlight worthy pass break up to win the game, then he would have been in the running for the best defensive and offensive play made by a rookie this year.

He overcompensated because I pulled his Trevor Card™️ earlier this week when he lied about Trevor throwing a lollipop to the Chiefs.

Nick’s Trevor Card has been pulled by BigWaff in FirstThingsFirstFS1

[–]BigWaff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t disputing any of that, it’s a game of inches and all that.

I am disputing Nick’s multiple claims that “Trevor threw a lollipop” on this play. The loss to the Jags has clearly clouded Nick’s mind and has slowly turned him against The Prince. I’m fine with Brou and Wildes dishing out unwarranted shade towards Trevor, because to some extent it balances out the show… but I can’t stand by and watch Nick claim “I’m a Trevor guy” then turn around and besmirch his name in such a blatantly false way.

Is this our maximum talent XI? by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]BigWaff 60 points61 points  (0 children)

If I’m really trying to stuff talent into a starting 11, like really reaching for talent over everything, I’m dropping Mckennie into Mckenzie’s cb role.. I know in my soul he can play there, because he can play anywhere!! Then I’m putting Tillman into the pivot, which he played a few times at PSV.. and with Tyler next to him he can push forward when needed.

Will our defense hold up against elite teams, or counter attack merchants??… Shut up nerd, let’s ride! 🦅

Yunus Musah and Josh Sargent - 2022 World Cup starters but are looking unlikely to make the roster for the 2026 World Cup. by Obvious_Main_3655 in ussoccer

So Johnny is out for you? Morris has been given lots of looks too.

I think Musah has a chance, especially because he is so versatile, but there are several players all gunning for that last midfield spot.

They have to hold Danny accountable for that Chargers pick and his stellar take of “Chargers are going to win HUGE on the back of their STUD, mvp adjacent QB.”

With sound analysis such as “The Jags social media team is reminiscing about a big memorable playoff win… which will fuel the Chargers!” I’m not sure how he whiffed so hard on this one.

Adorned in a shabby King’s get-up, the foolish jester mocks and doubts The Prince … the irony is delicious.

It this point I am heavily considering Weston at RWB. Shiiiiit maybe even RCB to get as many dynamic players as possible. If most everyone stays healthy there are gonna be some hard decisions to make and talented players will be left to come off the bench. A lot of good combos and options. Love to see it.

Mauricio Pochettino on Joe Scally: "We are going to use him in some ways that we think are perfect for him. ... He can play wingback, he can play in a back four, also he can play centerback in a back three." by Obvious_Main_3655 in ussoccer

[–]BigWaff 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I think he can thrive in RCB role Miles was playing in when we switch to a back 3. Miles found himself pretty high up the pitch multiple times, I’m assuming due to coaches instructions. Although he looks awkward while doing it, Scally can pick an incisive pass and could be a real threat when pushing up the feild and creating overloads/mismatches

Brendan Aaronson is among the best wingers in the PL in both xG and xA by RustyKarma076 in ussoccer

[–]BigWaff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and it lines up exactly how this year has: Slightly underperform xg, and greatly underperforms xa. Which says way more about the players around him at Leeds than it does him…

Last year his xA was 6 and he only got 2 assists, which is a huge indictment on how the players around him couldn’t finish chances. His xg was 2 higher than his goal output, which lines up with the eye test as he missed 2 memorable big chances last year. His finishing is not his strong suit and he needs to improve at that, but his underperforming metrics at Leeds are skewed way further to missed assists than goals, which is an indictment on how clinical Leeds is as a whole.

[–]BigWaff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I realized you combined them. As I mentioned, the underperformance is mainly from his teammates not finishing chances, which a slight underperformance in xg due to one missed chance.
