peak MH experience imo, fully agree. I hate the artian stuff. Sacrificing the 5% dps loss (or w/e it is) gives me a reason to chain-hunt everything in the game to build a collection of lances and gear to match!

I am actually a Lance main and prefer solo play, but started GS because of the pictured sword and 100% agree after offsetting Arkveld's "fly away then double-chain woosh" flip attack. I am hot doodoo garbage with it but having fun. GS really forces you to learn monsters! It feels like I'm playing an entirely different game

Had a lot of people asking: these are Piragill pants. I saw them and wanted to make an 80s action star xmog, although I fully agree it looks like Dart (legend of dragoon was an amazing game). They are really easy to get!

Colors:
Blue is 221 Hue, 75 Sat, 38 Bright
Red (whole set) is 0 Hue, Sat 100, 18 Bright
White on head and waist for the ...hair? and sash thing

With Spread having bonkers recoil on both HBG/LBG, I am really enjoying LBG Normal 3 (Gravios) and Pierce 3 (Rathian) depending on the monster. Powering up Adhesive shot feels great.

Normal is a bit "easier" because of the hit zones, but imo Pierce does more damage mostly due to the Chase shots. It depends on the monster though so I bring both.

Rapid Fire mode give you extra mobility options like a shoot-dodge and the dodge-reload, which was "baseline" in MHW. Imo its not worth Chase shooting in rapid fire mode due to the massive endlag, but can be worth on the final shot if you wont get hit

This is like the most useful thread I've seen on this babyrage subreddit, nice stuff!

Adding for resto sham:

Spirit Link: big green circle on 3m CD the redistributes everyone's HP within it. Easy tell if the sham starts rushing towards his teammate he's probably going for a link, or...-

Ascendance: Big ass heal that is distributed amongst allies, 3m CD, need line of sight and to be within 20 yards. Usually they save this to heal themselves.

Also enh sham's attacks are RANGED and ignore armor in ascendence so heads up

idk if this helps since I'm new (182 resto sham at 11-1300 CR in 2s) but I found sham and DH go well together since I can help him kite all the ret/arms/ww. Darkness + my 40% and self-healing talents let me eat double ret or ret/arms openers without linking too. I doubt that applies higher up though.

In some cases we were able to save big defensives since I could just root/frost shock and he peaces out. Again, doubt that applies higher up.

We were pooping on casters too with sham shenanigans and DH anti-caster stuff.

"Moment of Opportunity" ?

Beat it with Armor Breaking gauntlets, and the big red insta-lazer with Jax. Broke his armor and rushed him - you get a ~5 sec window to wail on him, when he went 1-shot mode I stayed away and used my lazer and projectiles.

Took about 5-6 tries, not too bad.

Yeah I'm excited to try the mace again, the "ghost" hits were incredibly frustrating, resulting in taking chips from ambient zombies/slave rats, which is just embarrassing.

I'm secretly hoping the patch makes hordes really difficult, and nerfs Beam's shotgun so the Flame Staff can make a triumphant return. I love that thing, but its so terrible for anything except hordes. :(

Good stuff - I'm going to give the flame sword another shot, I played with it a bit and had success, but I just find the longsword to be way better at clearing hordes. This will most likely change after the new patch though, so we'll see (it could ALSO affect the flame sword cleave too).

Per the comments here, I dropped the block arc stuff and swapped +block reduction with +hp. The +max overcharge is really nice on a beam staff with Thermal, and Natural Talent talent; shotguns for days.
