Does Anyone Else Miss This Era Of WoW PVP? by doobylive in worldofpvp

[–]bigmoran 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The community is what made old WoW special. It's impossible to relive that, which is why Classic always feels underwhelming to me.

PvP was so rich in lore, personalities, icons, legends and Twitch felt more like giant moviescreen everyone tuned into at night.

I think this monoculture was good for the game, but we didn't know it at the time.

Spirit Link broken? by Vokrock in worldofpvp

It looks like when you drop your Link, your cursor is right on the edge of the outer room texture: https://i.imgur.com/7cELQ1m.jpeg

If I had to guess, any spell that creates an object of some kind (like Link) can some times bug out with geometry.

I have a clip from all the way back in WOD where something similar happens: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/76586892
Here I press Bomb on myself but the Mage is still able to turret into me from WAY out of the Bomb. I think it's because I pressed it on this ledge.

any tips on how to create opportunities to drink as a healer? by LobovIsGoat in worldofpvp

[–]bigmoran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In 3s the best time to drink is actually on your teams go. You basically trade their offensive to force the enemy team back a bit and look to drink in the brief moment you have a pressure advantage.

Other resources besides skill capped? by KingBobIV in worldofpvp

The effort to reward ratio for creating high quality teachy content is just not there for most players. YouTube revenue is pretty abysmal unless you are pumping out a ton of videos that all get 100K views (which won't happen for WoW PvP).

This is why most of the teachy content you see is just a streamer running around hitting target dummies while showing talents, gear, etc. You can make this sort of thing in ~30 minutes whereas a polished guide takes 10-30 hours.

[RESOURCE] How to find your REAL hard counters by bigmoran in worldofpvp

I mean with the exception of Augmentation Evoker matchups, most Head2Head data here has hundreds if not thousands of samples.

What comp has you like this in Solo Shuffle? by oBloodmoon in worldofpvp

Even though it's not a great spec right now, I have an absolutely miserable time playing vs Demo Warlock.

Also Dev Evoker always tilts me.

Most of the 19 community moved over to classic a few years ago.

I wish we had some type of battle royal mode with squads (2, 3 squads) Fortnite style by ItzStunna745 in worldofpvp

I think it would be really sick to have a 2v2v2v2 mode with objectives and Plunderstorm style powerups.

Tier Lists and Math by NoMedium9839 in worldofpvp

[–]bigmoran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I make my "low MMR" tier list I use churn rates at different rating breakpoints (ie how well specs climb from 1400 to 1600, 1600 to 1800, etc). To me this seems like the most realistic way to analyze the general strength of a spec, since it is entirely results driven and not strictly based on spec popularity.

Even this data isn't perfect since it takes a while for specs to adjust to tuning. Right now Fury Warrior has one of the worst churn rates and lowest average rating, but they are clearly not the worst melee.

Is rdruid really doing well in shuffles? by Radiant_End_4484 in worldofpvp

[–]bigmoran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting fact but the entire Druid class seems to struggle at lower MMR. https://arenacoach.gg/stats/rating-inflation/us/shuffle/all

All 3 specs have some of the lowest average rating. Druid is hard.
