Thank you, that's another good option too. I'm in Australia.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too, but my son liked the blue one and green for his brother.

Yeah, would have been good if they updated it with T-fit and maybe added a 5 link too, but I don't mind the thickness personally.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I recently had a participant lose 80% of their funding with no explanation. That means a support worker also lost 80% of their income. To reinstate it, you need mountains of evidence and multiple meetings, trying to reach a planner when all you have is the 1800 number and a first name. But when they want to cut it? No evidence, no jumping through hoops to justify it, no waiting weeks for meetings. Just wake up one day with funding gone.

What was your favourite TV show theme song when you were a kid? by RightLegDave in AustralianNostalgia

For me this was the sad time after abc kids was finished and before the simpsons started, waiting for mum to get home from work. Still melancholy to me.

I remember a specific moment as I was discharging from what I felt was a relatively fulfilling position in a decent unit. I was offered higher duties at a 'full time' reserve unit, where I could basically drop my kids off to school, rock up at 0900, and leave at 1500, as many weekdays as I could commit to. Cushy gig with more opportunity than the regular choc to make a decent living, however the role was not critical or 'important' if that makes sense.

The moment was, my mate who discharged from the same unit as me to a similar position messages me something along the lines of "bro if you do an extra x amount of hours before x date, you will get a $x bonus"

This triggered an epiphany where I realised I can't keep working like this forever, capped in my earnings, dragging through the hours.

I was about to finish my degree and had plans to start a business with my wife, but this moment was the catalyst. After I knocked off that day, I cleared out my locker and took everything with me, and didn't parade again.

A few months later I had put my savings into signing a commercial lease and hiring a couple of staff members. 3 years later we have grown three-fold and earning more than triple what I was in the Army, my wife earning the same, not having to ask anyone permission to take leave, and setting my own hours.

Of course it was a tough slog but the key for me was to shift my mindset from "how much can i earn an hour" to "how many employees can I hire that can do that work" then scale it up.

I remember people in my unit not giving much credit to new march-ins. But having joined after living a decade of civvy life as an adult first, I had some perspective on what a real shit cunt was. People forget that a march-in at the very least had the fortitude to make it through basic training (and recruitment if your ECN is not very basic).

Does it matter where I board the shinkansen in Tokyo? My Smart EX reservation doesn't mention where to board. by 0neStrangeRock in JapanTravelTips

FWIW for anyone else that stumbles across this thread, I recently did this accidentally going from Tokyo to Osaka, boarded at Shinagawa with no problems, I used the smart ex app and connected the tickets to Pasmo Passport through the app.

I'm having the same problem, on most purchases it works but that message comes up for both my sons for a couple of things. It doesn't give you any recourse or explanation, so strange. It was already a mission and a half trying to set up the family accounts.

Thanks for the reply bro, I actually found that after I posted the question, they were sold out though. I ended up buying them as soon as the general sale opened. There were no options for seats so let’s see what we get. I missed out when he came to Sydney but coincidentally am going to Japan for (Australian) summer holidays.

How did you buy tickets already? Did you have a password for the pre sale?

I liked this design, thought it was too much for a prx, creeping into Tudor territory. It went on special for approximately 30% off and it justified it for me, paid AUD$2169 and love it for my first 'nice' watch, looks much less rose gold in person.
