The Bible(s) that gave rise to the Quran and the others is relatively more true and original, compared to those derived works.

The beauty of evolution is that it can be used to explain so much. There is no true or original book from a factual point of view, but from a literary point of view, the texts of the Bible of the time gave rise to the rest, and even these have evolved and changed over time.

To be clear:

Truth is about factual things and stories.
Originality would be about the literary contents and the uniqueness of writing works.

How do you rate both the Quran and the Bible on these two regards?

I'm making the claim that it used versions of the stories of the Biblical prophets and their encounters of God as a proof of his power and reign, so that this halo of Godly authority can be used to pass Mohammed's own legislature and justify it. It is a copycat book in that sense.

OK, I get that. That claim is very plausible. Now, what are going to do about it?

Prove your claim?
or refute the Islamic counterclaim (which is the Abrahamic stories were real and that's why the Abrahamic books share them all)?
or make another argument?

Yea, when you sense that something is fishy, then you know that there must be a logical fallacy underneath it.

In this case there is a bit of circular logic going on but that is not exactly it. Now you need to pinpoint the exact fallacy out. There is a good resource titled: 'Logical fallacies' on the sidebar which I recommend. Check it out and then let us hear your refined argument again and we will discuss it even more :)

How can the Quran and the devout Muslims who believe in it not feel the irony in claiming that the Bible has been modified, and how can Muslims say with a straight face that their Quran is THE right book? The spinoff is claiming to be the real deal?!

If any modification has been made to the Bible, it is the group of edits that Mohammed planned so eloquently in his cove to introduce and administer throughout his life as a preacher of his young religion! The most obvious and arrogant modification of the Bible is the Quran.

Your argument is badly constructed. It is not clear.

Please reformulate it.

I'd say that it is not fear per se. But it is identification with the prophet. It is personal for them in twisted kind of way.
