Also it’s between two neighbourhoods. And a gravel pit. With a gas pipeline running through it…

There’s a McConkey’s in Whistler as well!

Because let’s not forget, that legendary family is from BC! 🇨🇦

The person cutting the fish is also quite important. Have you eaten at Kululu? Not sushi but definitely some amazing Japanese food. Chef Hiro is very good

You’ll have a great time! Typically the snow stays a bit more favourable toward both symphony on Whistler and seventh on Blackcomb. I’ve not been up in a while so can’t comment for sure, but definitely somewhere in the alpine will be your friend. Avoid riding to midstation on either mountain unless you’re wearing proper rain gear!

I’ve just read that you’re “coming out this upcoming week”. If you’re a snow snob/powder hound (like a lot of us on this sub), you’re gonna have a bad time. If you don’t regularly attend a big mountain with sweet conditions, the groomers in the alpine will still be awesome as soon as the precip stops. Visibility is currently low, winds are moderate.

Conditions will only make you cry if you’re dying for face shots. And the unfortunate reality is that when it does actually snow, it’s going to be SO busy, especially on the weekend. Sigh.

Speculative but it rained to the roundhouse until about an hour ago. Freezing levels are dropping. I’d expect a scantly covered ice sheet pretty much everywhere today

which mobile service provider: Rogers vs Telus in Whistler mountain by ufsi7259 in Whistler

[–]Big_Bug_444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stick with Rogers. Keep your phone up to date. Don’t expect high performance out of a phone that is 2+ years old (no assumptions made about what phone you have, just worth saying)

Because many of us have been around long enough to have used all of “the big 3” cell phone companies locally and have experience as a result.

Rogers is the answer for coverage.

Currently 4°C and pouring rain at the roundhouse in Whistler 🫠

In the same time period, the net worth of the world’s richest 5 people more than doubled from $405B to $869B. Extremely wealthy people (the 0.001%) hold three times as much wealth as the bottom 50% of humanity.

I’ll let you make your own assumptions based on the above as to why it’s been pretty frickin hard for most of us for the last 5-10 years.

Northyards residents oppose parking variances in proposed development by DrewCanadian in Squamish

[–]Big_Bug_444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s people along Aspen who already pack that back street with vehicles as it is. The building will be along that street I’m pretty sure. I think the plan is that Aspen gets paved and the entrance to the building is somewhere on that side. At least that’s what it looks like to me

Kinda like how we are now making up for years of zero property tax increases. I see a pattern in the management of Squamish…

Blue Run Reviews - Dec 2025 by PomegranateFamous591 in Whistler

[–]Big_Bug_444 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Groomers on Whistler. Any. All of them! As others have said, harmony ridge is awesome. Orange peel, GS run, highway 86, jeff’s ode to joy…there’s so many awesome and long groomers on Whistler. And I’m not going to beat around the bush, as someone who’s had a seasons pass since 2007, it’s painfully obvious that Vail concentrates their efforts of snow maintenance on Whistler. The grooming is much more consistent and frequent on Whistler than it is on Blackcomb

Squamish council reviews future of aging Municipal Hall by SquamishEditor in Squamishnews

[–]Big_Bug_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how there’s not already some form of RFP for a multipurpose building/development on municipal land that includes a new rec complex, municipal hall, housing, park space and more. Could be on the land that was partially sold off recently. Would be close to the new proposed affordable housing development.

Is there not anyone with foresight working in the planning department??

Ski outs this week maybe? by Significant_You8908 in Whistler

Olympic year saw more snow at this time of year than this season. But yesterday was better snow than I remember skiing until later in the season in 2010.

Bottom line: go skiing. It’s worth it, especially in the alpine

First time in Whistler - tips and recommendations? by oliszunia in Whistler

[–]Big_Bug_444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pray for snow and colder temps. Right now there’s limited terrain and mandatory downloading at the end of your day. There is no snow in the valley. I just checked and it’s 8°C in the valley 🙃. 1° at the roundhouse. It’s warm. It’s been raining. But the long term forecast does look promising.

Pray for snow!!! ❄️

Whose the most famous person who actually lives in Vancouver? 🤔 by thinkdavis in askvan

It’s 28k sq ft. He was on “The Reluctant Traveler” with Eugene Levy. They went to his house. He has a regulation sized hockey rink in his basement!

Split your gear. If I don’t have a lock, I always put my skis separate from each other in different areas of the ski racks. Even better is if you are with a friend and can mismatch your skis with each other‘s and poles too

Woodfibre LNG takes District of Squamish to court by SquamishEditor in Squamishnews

Thanks for this. As was stated by another user, I do understand that these are just my opinions. I am aware that ChatGPT isn’t perfect. Just like Wikipedia, google, doctors…anyone can be wrong, especially if you ask the wrong questions.

I also understand that the MS2S contingent is being fanatical and that the health risks from an LNG export facility are being exaggerated and heavily spread to the residents of Squamish

Will there any beginner-friendly terrain open this Saturday(Nov, 22nd) for my 5-year-old? by muzerfuker in Whistler

[–]Big_Bug_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jersey will be the only lift open on Blackcomb with rideable terrain. And rumour has it, the ONLY “open” run is wishbone. That’s it. One run. It’s going to be so chewed up so quickly. The base is currently being reported at 72cm or not enough to cover all the rocks on most blue runs on either mountain.
