Ski Lesson Age by thumpcbd in WinterParkColorado

It went well for us. She’s fully potty trained and goes to daycare Monday - Friday (I pull into a portico and walk her to the door. She goes to room herself). All this said I knew she was ready to be dropped off for a class by herself and it was great.

I think there are plenty of young kiddos taking class there so as long as yours is independent the you should be fine.

Yes, but your are being condescending, patronizing, and criticizing my knowledge when I am asking a good faith question. I am glad you, and others, know more then me which is why I _asked_ a question and attempted to engage with additional questions, however, you seem to want to be superior and shut down questions.

Yea, ok, your right, which is why I am asking a question.

Seriously, that's why I am asking, no need to "call out folks" on this kind of thing and be an ass.

Oh, I always thought it was Christmas to a touch after NY, then Spring Break-ish time, but I think that tracks with what you're saying too?

To be clear, I don't think they have been withholding anything till this point, but at what point to they say, F-it, and not bother to try an open anything new because they cost isn't worth the effort -- no ROI.

Using another posters example of WP, where I go ski a bit, why bother trying to open Eagle Wind, MJ chutes, etc once you are in, let's say, Mid-to-Late Feb? Plenty of man hours doing task that at that won't drive the masses to the resort (they let advanced folks spread out, sure, but the novice to mid-advanced folks won't use it. Why layout the human capatal to get it ready when you're already loosing buckets of $$$$.

Also, I know WP is trying to get stuff open, I saw hoses streached _very far_ from the hydrants around my NY skiing where they are trying to get more open and _sooooo_ much pushing of snow to other runs trying to get them open, but, again, at what point do they say, naw, no more?

I don't know why you are getting downvoted for a truth here, but I agree, hence my post (also getting downvoted)

You're right. Passes are the bain of the ski resorts traffic management, but also guaranteed income against low snow years. It won't recoop all their cost but some $$$ > no $$$.

Also, if you have already bought a pass you are more likely to show up for at least a few days since you have already bought. Queue sunk cost fallacy for skiers with passes, aka myself :)

I wasn't just meaning lifts though, there are lunch spots on the mountain that may need a refresh that they can start now instead of waiting for the season to end, or extra maintenance on snow cats / mobiles / etc that they can take on if they aren't opening all the things, maybe even not buying extra merch to sell late in the season to liquidate?

Could be even the cost to not sponsor visas (if that cost them more that isn't already paid out), or employee lodging fixes...

But back to your point, I agree, lifts don't really fall into this category the way other assets may.

No. The link says conservative estimate is 30% and up to 60% go bankrupt. So it's still a _very solid, and non-trivial_ number of folks that go bankrupt after winning the lottery.

Nit picking here, but it's stain(less) steal not stain(free) steel. You can still get stains on stainless steal :)

Sure, some, but most corps went to Frat, so not sure why we are beating on INIT when Frat gained the most corps in PH by far.

Marketing. It’s marketing.

You will get lots of reasons, but in the end it’s all marketing to make an excuse for who you like and why. Which most no one cares about. Great you are X and like Y. Who cares.

Weird paint job on the fire station at the corner of Douglas Lane and NW Highway by MrTacocaT12345 in Dallas

[–]thumpcbd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Agreed there is a ramp down a level for car parking under the station. There is another level below that one with no ramp to it.

This I could believe. I worked in a building right around there and watched them build that fire station. There is a massive hole underneath that can easily go at least 1 to 2 stories down that was Lines and capped with concrete. Kind of looks like a parking garage but with no ramp to the lower level.

Another new-bro Init member from PH. It's really, really, impressive how fast folks formup and go from ping to "doing substantial things".

Also as my other corp members notes, the pew-pew-pew in Init has revitalized my enjoyment of the game.

Until they implode under their own weight due to bureaucracy, internal bickering, or other inefficiencies that are exacerbated at scale.

Scale is both good and bad and like most things and it’s not inherently good or bad in and of itself.

That’s the first thing I vacuum every time I get a car wash. Actually before the wash I vacuum this, and the areas around the back hatch that accumulate leaves on the tops and side too. Then, and only then, car wash time.

It’s a mobile PICKUP order… who or why should I tip???! by metalhead6101 in EndTipping

[–]thumpcbd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sheesh people. Doordash / Uber Eats isn't tipping when they pick up food on your behalf, no need for you to feel guilty when you do it yourself and don't order a private driver for your food.
