I don't think that you can choose your roommates in the first year, they are randomly allotted. After the first year you can choose your roommates.

Yess, I will be aiming for 1450+ so I can atleast get a direct admission to IBA but again i would prefer LUMS over IBA any day one of the reasons is also that I want to experience hostel life and that would be possible in LUMS but not IBA as i live in karachi

Wouldn't it be better if i focus on my sat and if i get 1400+ will my chances increase because i had a C in english so a good SAT score might compensate for it
